I was insinuating that both parties had a hand in it.Originally posted by mudslinger47 View PostYo, Bub, why you blaming the Republicans? and especially in Cally...This is a Dummycrat state through and through. If you look back to the committee meetings and arguments on the floor, you would see the republicans in general where opposed to the democrat, straight out tax rebate, which is funny as they preach lower tax. The compromise was the shovel ready deal and the republicans agreed at the time. As we can see, this was less than effective, compared to previous tax rebates, but the democrats where blamed for something both had a hand in.
Even though the shovel ready stimulus was less effective, what made it worse was not including a provision to keep the spending in the country. You can learn a lot by just watching CSPAN. Hear what they say, instead of what someone spins what they say.
Along these same lines, how do you feel about outsourcing defense spending? I feel that all defense spending should be in house, no matter what cost differences are. Why I believe that, is defense is spent on the likelihood we have to go to war. Do we want to be dependent on any other country for this probability, especially China? Some of your representatives on both sides do. Why are we buying Russian helicopters to give to Afghanistan? Why do we buy French airplanes for transport. Why do we allow Boeing to outsource any of a war plane? Why do we allow GE to outsource any of the jet engines that go into our war planes? Why do we import steel and aluminum from China to build our defense equipment? Should our defense belong to multinational corporations?
Saturday was Dec, 7th a date we should never forget. We where ill prepared in 1941, but we had the manufacturing to ramp up. I believe, with as much as we spend, we are much less prepared for war now.
