"6 billion dollars in disrespect to our military retirees is preferable to offending illegal immigrants? Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn released his annual “Government Waste Book†that detailed $33 billion in wasteful spending — apparently more important than honoring those who honorably serve."
Has this country completely sold out for purposes of getting reelected?

For all practical purposes the unwritten doctrine of "get elected/reelected at all costs" has been the rule rather than the exception since before WW II.
Rampant political correctness and the getting elected at all costs are two of the most debilitating maladies facing our country today.
One might say the national debt is a serious threat to the Republic, too, but that comes under the political correctness heading. One goes hand in hand with the other.

You got it but, its not to late to correct the problem but, it is going to be up to the people to make that happen. Not the politicians because they will only continue down this path because that's what the corporate lobbyist want. when you have paid politicians by corporate lobbyist bills will only be passed that benefits their back pocket and not yours. it's funny how some like to blame one party or even Obama for this mess yes they have contributed to it but, just to blame them I don't think so. Both parties and current and past Presidents are to blame. You could go as far back as when Reagan got elected and it has progressed since then.Originally posted by jog49 View PostWhere have you been? This country has been on the path to self destruction for a while now. In fact, it's probably too late to salvage anything of value at this point in the descent.
Our military personal, seniors, and kids should be their first priorities.
they have put themselves ahead of those 3 groups. just look at the healthcare they have, look at their retirement they have.

It sucks, but we have allowed them to be in government as a job...that was never the intent...but they are no different then us, would you volintarially quit your job? Of course not, nor will they. So it is incumbent on us to fire them. Its all us, we get what we vote for and we haven't done to good of a job in recent years...

I agree 100% Mud. It's the voting public that have allowed clowns like Barney Frank, Chuckie Rangle, Turbin Durbin, Chuckie Schumer, Orrin Hatch, Di ckie Shelby and Mitchie McConnell just to name a few who have long since worn out their usefulness. But the ever-so bright voting public continue to put the clowns back in office.
He!!, here in The Land O' Lincoln and crooked politicians we have a stalwart general assemblyman by the name of Derrick Smith, an african american democrat from the Southwest side of chitcago, who was expelled from the state general assembly for corruption in the form of taking bribes. The expulsion carried the general assembly by a vote of 100 to 6 (wonder what planet the 6 are from?) and he was gone. The expulsion vote took place in August of 2012. Then comes the general election in November of 2012 and he gets voted back into office and cannot be expelled again for the same charges. When you have an electorate that is either that spiteful or that stupid there is little hope for republic.
He was voted back in because the voting electorate in that district is about 75% african american and they wanted to show the world that they'll put their boy back in office regardless of what he has done or said. Unbelievable? Yes. But ya' can't make up the stuff that goes on in Illinois politics. And, just remember, our esteemed president was trained and immersed in the cesspool of chitcago politics.
Ahhhhh, ya' gotta' love Illinois politics, don't ya'?!Last edited by CIRF; 12-29-2013, 04:27 PM.

Yes, and when the other government employees get a COLA of 1.5% raise, that's what they get too!Originally posted by dirtisforracin View PostTerm Limits, eliminate all their benefits and retirement, would be start. Also they get paid what active military familes get paid.
My raise all went into increased health care costs, so actually no cost of living raise period.
