Wanting to move out of California and want to know everyones opinions on where is the best place to live from a dirt track perspective. Im talking about stock cars not sprint cars. I want a place that has a lot of local dirt tracks close by and heard North Carolina is a great place to live for Racing. Can anybody give me some other options?-Ryan C

Ballpark, roughly where do you live now? I'm in Cally myself... Biggest issue out here is miles, there is plenty of racing but you have to be willing to over night it occasionally... I feel your pain.

Currently north of the bay area. The racing is decent for Mods and Sprint cars but stock car racing is pretty lame. Always have to travel too far to race anywhere. So far im hearing NC and Tennessee area, is Alabama and Texas good?

You need to get hold of "Late_Model_Mark" on this site. He's a track announcer down south and has the skinny on DLM racing. I'll E-Mail him and have him check out this thread.Originally posted by camarofever View PostCurrently north of the bay area. I think central and south west Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee and I'm sure more but these for sure you could to go wrong. You will get a variety of trucks. From 1/5 mile to a high bank 3/8 with some of the best racing around like I said I'm sure there is serval other tracks around the country that is just as good.

The place to live for dirt LM racing has to be here in Knoxville, TN. Within an hour-and-a-half I can get to 411, Smoky Mountain, Tazewell, Bulls Gap, Wartburg, Cleveland and Boyd's. Add another half our to hour and I can get to Wythe, North Georgia & TriCounty.
Next best has got to be in the middle of the "I" states- Iowa, Illinois and Indiana.
