FORD Dominated Daytona

I wonder if this is the first time Ford has won every race at Daytona including the proto type race at the 24 hr. Not a ford fan at all but you gotta give credit were it's due.

Ford dominated? I think you ment to say detonated right? I think 22 was the last ford running haha. Harvick and Jr would have left him sitting if they could have raced to the checkered.

When in the he!! is the rich little grandson gonna' learn how to drive without wrecking people. Dillon wrecked 4 or 5 guys in last years Daytona 500 and took Gordon out on the last lap of this year's 500. Maybe the kid ought to stick with running support class races out at Volusia.

Grandpa may give him a ride but that doesn't mean he can drive it.

IDK, I think she has Godaddy in her back pocket. In her defense, I think she got thrown to the wolves. From Indy cars to Busch cars,for a year, and then to Cup. That wasn't enough time for her to learn. Im sure that was sponsor driven!

Im not a Childress fan, but to make the Dillion boys run dirt cars first was wise on his part. He has always said dirt drivers make better pavement racers. Plus, the TDR deal is good for dirt racin. They are developing several young drivers on dirt. To see them outrun some of the best mod drivers, is actually impressive. Of course, they couldn't do it without the McDowells.

There isn't domination in restirctor plate racing only dumb luck to survive the wrecks. As for grand pa's kids that is the first move to the end of Childress.

drtrkr244, you may be correct in regards to GoDaddy. However, it would be a bit of a surprise if Patrick runs a full schedule for the 2016 season.

In reference to winning races in a dirt track support division that is a solar system away from winning regularly on the Cup circuit. That has been proven many, many times over the years.

Mit, I've heard exactly what you're saying here over the past couple of years but haven't seen much in the way of progress. I too have a deep passion for racing but I can't drive a lick! LOL!!

I will admit to chafing a bit when I see the grandkids being over-hyped in every NASCAR Cup promotional piece when we all know that either one of them would be driving for an established Cup team with good sponsorship if their grandpa wasn't who he is. Neither brought to NASCAR anywhere near the dirt track credentials that a kid like Kyle Larson did.

In this instance I don't object to the obvious nepotism. It's a granddaddy helping his grandkid's. What does chafe is the over-hyping of the recipients of the nepotism who weren't all that impressive on the dirt in their lead up to making the jump to the highest levels of racing in the country.

It's inevitable that they're going to be around as long as grandpa can secure sponsorship for them, it'd just be nice if they'd learn to drive a racecar without constantly wrecking people.

Austin is good and he stepped into the #3. There is no way NOT to hype that. It was the 500, on the last lap, moves like that get made. Bummer that it happened but I wouldn't label him as wreckless based off of that. They have something they want to prove and are doing their best. Again, they're not Jimmy or Jeff, but they're far from being bad.
