I was called by Iowa DNR office today and am tickled to know end. I was asked to bring my group (6) to hunt a special hunt for Deer. There has been deer tested for CWD in a certain area. Yes it is an area my group and I are very familiar with. But of all the hunters in Iowa and DNR special service groups. Our group was chosen to help with this hunt. Our group is very Honored and humbled to say the least by the State of Iowa to help participate.
I know it isn't racing, but the excitement and privilege to help out our State in this matter is overwhelming. Sorry guys I just had to vent. I was asked to Lead this hunt even over the DNR Officers. (200 deer) I just couldn't refuse!!!!!

I gladly volunteer my services to help out. Down here in the South, hunting and racing go hand in hand. Those of us that use dogs, get to do both at the same time! Most of us are just dirt track wannabes!

yes . But you need to get to problem right away. Or it can spread with-in the deer herds. And that will cause the deer herd to thin out as they will die. Affects the brain of deer, which leans towards droopy ears, getting thin, and thirst.

I would highly not recommend consumption of such. If one must, then only boneless meat cuts. CWD attacks the central nervous system and or spinal system of said animal.
As in Illinois and other parts of the Country, these hunts are in place to thin herds and eliminate any sick animals before they contaminate other deer. CWD turns up in places that have high numbers of deer gathered in feeding areas.

I will add, no human has ever contracted CWD that we know of. I always thought that DC might have contracted CWD, but we'll never know now that he is no longer around
