I love the weber line, but I don't own anything propane in the grill department...........I have a weber 22.5 smokey mountain smoker, (2) weber smokey mountain 18.5 and a weber kettle charcoal grill with the rotisserie attachment ring......

I've had to replace the charcoal grates in a couple of them and had to re weld some of the fire rings in the smokers( simply from over use) , but they hold up well, are affordable and produce very consistent results for us...........we use them a lot in my wife's catering biz and also a lot on the competition trail depending on the event.

I see the weber propanes on craigslist all the time for pretty cheap, might want to get you one of those, replace the guts in it and roll on.........be cheaper than buying a new genesis......

Never ever use gas , lighter fluid or anything of the sort........we own 9 different smokers ranging from 4 shoulder capacity to our big boy that can accommodate up to 400 lbs at a time.

They all burn wood and some charcoal with the exception of out trager pellet grill which burns wood pellets and runs the blower fan off of electric.( that's about as close as we come to doing it the easy way, and then only use it for competition rib turn ins)

Gas is for sissies........probably something that DC and his pill bottle full of names would use.

So no worries , we are set............. F. I.T .A
Yea, but they don't like wood burning or SMOKE either. lol/cry

Only weeks after the Environmental Protection Agency effectively banned 80 percent of the wood-burning stoves money-saving Americans use to heat their homes, the attorneys general of seven states are suing to force the agency to crack down on wood-burning water heaters.

Well then you will appreciate this...........we built a replica of the wsm 22.5 smoker out of the top and bottom of an old blue weber ketel grill, a 55 gallon oil drum as the center section and some replacement grates.

It holds up to twelve shoulders (4 on each rack) and runs at 250 for 8 hrs once I get up to temp on a single 17lb bag of charcoal....( even has a door cut in to add charcoal or wood as or if needed during longer cooks)....we also layer some hickory chunks in with the charcoal for the smoke flavor we want.

The fire ring is a circular piece of expanded metal we welded and the water pan is an old stainless wok that I cut the handles off of and wired it to the bottom cooking grate.

Affectionately known in the arsenal as " smokezilla".........painted it all ford engine blue!

It's a big hit on the weekend stays at the 2 or 3 day shows........it's seen east bay, volusia,Charlotte, county line,Screven and even an asphalt weekend at darlington.

And cooks like the beast it is......
