I think Cruz is a heck of a good candidate for an all around guy.. I believe that Carson is probably in a little over his head, but isn't afraid to get help if he needs it, I believe. And "The Donald" shoots from the hip... if he gets in watch the rest of the nations stand up and be counted... I think Marco Rubio will be the republican candidate in the end. Mud Trump is just there for the entertainment. They need something to get the independent to look at the republican party. IMO We should have someone thats an independant so they at both sides fairly. Someone that will worry bout whats goin on in THIS country and not worry about the world as much. Get more into busting the illegals barring all packaging from have anything but ENGLISH words on em. Taxing all the companies that have their stuff imported back to here to sell. Make all states have a set minimum wage and to legalize marijuana( that would help out everybody) to stop all these drug manufacters from killing us with man made chemicals in other words someone whos b@lls enuf to get this country where it should beIf I havent offended you please be patient Ill get to you as soon as I can...... and yes Im a Bloomquist fan...deal w it!!! I would like to see:
1) Eliminate gerrymandered districts. The way they draw the lines in each state for congressional districts, they guarantee that one or other candidate get elected, over 85% of candidates run in "safe" districts with no real opposition. It's rigging the districts to ensure the outcome, not a fair and balanced way to elect officials. There has to be a way to draw district lines simply based on population numbers, not slicing and dicing up counties to create districts that cherry pick the voters in those counties to guarantee a candidate from a certain party gets in office. This is a huge problem, probably the number one detriment to fulfilling the founding fathers dream of one man, one vote. Sure, let the people vote, but group them in such a way that "your guy" always wins? That's not in the spirit of America. That's not what we are all about. Unfortunately, the people who couldn't get in office otherwise just love this system, and they have the money to ensure it doesn't change.
2) Campaign finance reform. No more privately funded political campaigns. Make each candidate run with the same amount of money available to them, make them compete on their policies and personality, not their hoards of cash and big financial backers. Create a grass roots campaign system based on good old fashioned shoe leather, no campaign ads, no corporate funded movements, no big campaign donors. Make the candidate do it the Jimmy Carter way, by getting out there with "the people" and winning them over one by one. Running for President should be hard, and it should mean figuring out how to sway the voters with your personality and message, not letting millionaires run attack ads spreading lies and misinformation to scare people away from you.
Our country would look vastly different if we, the people, were represented properly by the government. And our country would look vastly different if people with lots of money were not allowed their unequal influence and favor with our elected officials.
Bottom line, the people with money in this country are very clever in how they manipulate and pull the levers of power in our country, we have to find a way to get their hands off the levers and get the power back in the hands of the everyday person. Our SC is not helping in this with their "corporations are people" fiction, and NONE of the current crop of elected officials has the will or the ability to bite the hands that fed them and put them in there. So next time some candidate comes along saying "campaign finance reform" and "get rid of the gerry wandered districts" whether or not they are a right wing conservative, a tree hugging liberal or anything else, if THAT is what they intend to fix first and foremost, we the people MUST support that person if we ever hope to have any voice in our own government again.
All the fights I see between the political factions these days all stem from the propaganda and misinformation fed to the people engaging in them by those that wish to keep you uninformed and in the dark and distracted from the REAL problems with our Democracy. Like the good folks in power and their financial backers have already guaranteed you don't matter any more, and they laugh at you while you run around with your Tea Party banner thinking you are making a difference, or waving some Rainbow Warrior flag thinking it was your activism that brought about change. They know NOTHING happens without their corporate blessing, and they run the whole show while letting you think you still have a voice.Comment
