Ok now I'm not getting what your trying to say lol.
Is there a rule for what KH did? if so what it is it and if so why didn't NASCAR do something about it?

What rules are you talking about. I'm agreeing with CIRF nascar didn't know what KH Or RR intent where at the time of both incidents.

Mike Helton said Kevin Harvick broke no rules in an interview after the Dega race....... that's all I'm saying....it doesn't amount to a hill a beans what happen 25 years ago, this is today and they said he broke no rules....I agree, if there were a rule about spinning some one out, wouldn't Joey Lagano be relieved of his win week before last? People gotta quit living in the past.... and by todays standard, Rudd wouldn't have had the win taken from him I would think...

Rudd was the best example of a hard nose blue collar driver. Worked his way up the ladder with no fanfare. He is what I liked about racing. Never forget that Martinsville win when his cool suit (oxymoron) quit working. They had to carry him to victory lane LOL

Jeff Gordon tells it like it is: "I think it was inconclusive. I don't think that it's a clear-cut thing," said Jeff Gordon, who remains in the thick of the title hunt in his final Sprint Cup season. "Do I like the fact that there's somebody with an engine that is underpowered starting right in the middle of the pack? No. If this Chase format wasn't the way that it is, I don't think somebody would do that. "There's no doubt that the way that Kevin started that last restart was to cause chaos. I don't think that he intentionally tried to do it. I can't see anything from what I saw that he was intentionally trying to take somebody out. I think the restart before that he moved up and got out of the way and let people go by. This one he didn't. I think that's pretty clear that he wanted there to be chaos. That was his shot. He did what he had to do. You can't blame somebody for that."

It's like an intentional foul in basketball, or deliberate interference in the end zone to prevent a touchdown. Either foul or be eliminated in some cases.

Harvick did what he had to do to try and keep himself in the Chase. No different that wrecking a guy who is ahead of you in points and you know if he finishes in front of you, you are eliminated from having a shot at the title.

Under any system, there is an elimination process taking place. The Chase is just a different variation on it. Its more structured, but even under the old system, with three races to go, 5 races, one race, whatever, certain drivers had to finish in certain positions or higher to stay alive or be eliminated mathematically from having a shot.

People think The Chase introduced the element of elimination, win or go home, to racing for a championship. Nothing could be further from the truth. All the Chase does, certainly in the current format, is keep that stuff alive until the last race at Homestead and create multiple rounds of it in a structured manner Nascar can sell.

Call the foul, whatever, Harvick is still in with a shot at the title and that's what he and his team get paid to do. Just like in any other sport, you keep your team alive by fair means or foul if you have to, to win the Championship. It's not like he deliberately took a guy out, he just hung around and caused problems and hoped that would benefit him and his team.

            It worked.

Your probably right.... and then it would have been a conspiracy that NASCAR fixed it for Jr to win....they're in a no win situation right there....LOL

Yes he was blue collar that's for sure, yes I remember that day very well, what about the week after his wreck at Daytona during the Busch clash when he had to tape his eye lids open to race and he won the race at Richmond. Now if that's not blue collar I don't know what is.

And Rudd should have never had that win taken from him back then either if so, then iron head should have had plenty of wins taken from him but, being their poster boy that wasn't going to happen.

Petty was in the Booth when Rudd took his tumble. It looked deadly, but he said that Rudd should be able to walk away, as he explained why, describing the accident. Made me feel better, but when it was reviewed in slo mo later, he came partly out of the car when it was flipping. Anyway eyes propped open, black and blue, he wins the following week.

Yes for a minute I thought he was going to lose his arm the way it was coming out of the car. I thought he could possibly roll on it. And yes maybe even come out of the car completely but, all eneded well and he went on to win at Richmond with his eyes taped open.

No spin, no rant and I haven't lost anything and won't lose anything. The important question here is will you still be hugging baby stewy's nuts after he's retired? Hehehehehe!!!

They didn't like Rudd and did what they had to to prevent him from winning.
An accurate observation on all counts, thank you. Here is a video of the incident at North Wilkesboro that you speak of and pay close attention to the ranting and whining at the 4:30 mark of the video. Compare that to the Rudd interview a little earlier in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSi3gQ3_sZo

Yep, the gimmick known as the chase allows a bunch of teams who haven't even earned being within striking distance of a championship being given, and I do mean given, the opportunity to win. Sure doesn't seem like a valid way to determine a season's champion, at least to clear thinking people.

So what you guys call "good" racing is the point leader skating for the last ten races to protect his lead? Not good, the chase promotes racing, Winning counts, not strokin'.... I like the chase, even when my fav isn't in it...this year I'm fortunate, he is... and as for your saying its for those that don't deserve it, how many races has Joey won? and Kyle? And and Harsucks, with two or three wins and 11 seconds.... telling me they wouldn't be toward the front of the points? Only difference now is they still have to work for it....but ya'll enjoy yourselves living 25 years ago....
