Were planning on going down the feb -17-18-19 .... Last trip we stayed in st augustine beach area .... My wife wants to stay on the beach which is fine by me .... I was wondering if anyone knew of any other beaches close to Volusia speedway .... I know daytona isnt farr away so maybe slim pickens on rooms ....But just thought id throw it out there if anyone knew any places on the beach & close to the speedway .....

Bob, the closest beach side accommodations would be Ormond Beach which is straight East of VSP on Rt. 40. Ormond Beach is the Northernmost town on the beach-side in the Daytona Beach metro area. By beach-side I mean it is East of the Halifax river which is the inter-coastal water way. The better beach side hotels in Ormond/Daytona Beach/Daytona Beach Shores/Port Orange/Wilbur By The Sea/Ponce Inlet will probably be full for Speedweeks and if they're not full they will have 4 or 5 night minimum stay requirements.
Ormond is about 1/2 hour drive to VSP.
You might check Flagler Beach, which is North of Ormond Beach. It will take you about 40 minutes to get to VSP from Flagler.
St. Augustine might be the closest beach-side accommodations you're going to find at this late date.
You might check availability in New Smyrna Beach. NSB is just South of the Daytona Beach metro area and that will take you about 45 minutes one way to VSP.
Good luck, hope you find someplace that you like. Half the fun of going to Speedweeks is hangin' out at the beaches, bars and restaurants. I'd suggest taking a drive on the beach in Daytona or New Smyrna while you're down there. The crooked politicians and environmental/animal wacko's are desperately trying to completely stop beach driving and they will eventually get the job done. Sooner rather than later, too. The beach-side hotel businesses want to stop beach driving as well so they can boast an almost private beach setting directly in front of their properties. Those hotel developers push hundreds of thousands of dollars to the city and county politicians and they have the crooked ones deeply in their pockets. The environmental/animal wackos are continually threatening lawsuits which Volusia County can't afford to contest.
