does it seem like the international race of champions (i.r.o.c) kinda faded away around the same time nascar made all the cars and engines almost equal (somewhat identical) ?????

    It is not you.
I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.

When all IROC could get to run the deal were several Cup guys and the Nationwide & truck champions and the ARCA Champion nobody gave a hoot about it anymore. The true world class racers weren't going to waste their time with it. IROC was tilted heavily towards the stock car drivers and the people who ran it didn't try to hide their preferences as to who they wanted to win.

The deal in later years was an ironhead benefit and they wanted him to win it every year. A guy like Michael Shumacher isn't going to try to be competitive under those circumstances plus they didn't pay nearly enough money to get him, or any of the world class racers, in one of those cars. When they quit trying to field a true international field it became a bad joke and faded away, can't say as I know too many that miss it.
