Salem is one bad ass racetrack. I'm no fan of asphalt racing but Salem and Winchester are two places that I would make an exception for. ARCA is said to put on an awesome show at Salem.Comment

They uses to have a Salem 500 for late models. Once they had a big wreck in hot laps and completely took out 150 feet of guard rail in turn three. They had to postpone the race.
Another time Ron Hutcherson turned over on the backstretch and slide 750 feet on his roof clear into turn three before stopping.
And then there was the time that Darrell Waltrip went over the guardrail in the backstretch and got stuck in a tree top.
Sometimes you just went home with nothing left but the steering wheel, lolComment
