Are body oils useful for keeping dry skin soft and glowing?

I used to avoid body oils because I thought they would feel greasy, but my skin gets really dry after showers. A friend told me to try applying a small amount while the skin is still slightly damp. Does body oil actually help with softness and glow, or is it mostly just for appearance?

Body oils can be useful if the texture is not too heavy. I think they are best for adding softness and a healthy finish, especially after a shower. For very dry skin, I would still keep a moisturizer in the routine. Oil can help with glow, but regular care matters more than using it once in a while.

Body oil made more sense to me once I stopped using it on completely dry skin. After evening showers, I apply a small amount on my arms and legs, and it gives a smoother look without feeling too heavy. While trying to choose something for dry patches before a weekend trip, I looked through https://bitchstix.com/product-category/body-oils/ because I wanted a body oil that felt more like care than just shine. For me, it works best as an extra step after moisturizer or right after bathing. It does not replace every cream, but it helps my skin look less dull and feel softer.
