Same question here. I made up an automatic roll off system for my gopro. Currently a prototype but getting ready to cut tooling for the production piece and it would be nice to have a heavier duty roll bar mount. The roll off system is large enough that I use two smaller roll bar mounts. But I had an idea to just make an aluminum version of the gopro roll bar mounts? Figure I could then go back to using just one mount. But would be interested in seeing what others are using. See if anyone was using a ball head mount? Steve
I use the one from speedway. Ran about 25 races last year (on some real rough tracks)and it took a beating but never broke or stretched. I do put a zip tie through the back of the door and zip tie it to the roll cage just incase it did break I wouldn't lose the camera.
Get an aluminum mount and you wont have to worry about it. I used a tether that I had from and old camera mount, I had my plastic mount break and found my camera up against the wall in turn three after all the races were done.
Just buy a 'Manfrotto 035 Super Clamp' goggle it
They can hold 30lbs.
You will need an attachment so camera can be screwed on in any angle
this clamp is very strong
