Default LR and RF shock pairing

Gonna try a 8/2 shock on the LR in slick, not sure what to pair it with on the RF?????
    I have QA1 50 series shocks, I have a 5, 3-5, and a 4-6.......which would you use?

    04' Shaw mod
LR spring behind, shock in front.
    RR paired shock/spring in front
    600lb springs across front
    200lb springs across back
    current shocks - LF-5 / RF-3-5 / LR-6-2 / RR-3-4.5
% are setup exactly to Shaw specs

Car is fast in tack, just looking to get a little better in slick

    Thanks

8-2 LR 4-6 RF Car is loose or tight in? No forward drive? Shaws tuning guide is pretty good.

So pair it with a RF 4/6 then, thanks

Car is always loose getting in in the slick, I have always left the bars in book settings and tried working on driving the car differently in slick. keeping it more straight and driving easy. But I still wind up too loose getting in and no forward drive from center off.

I have a plan to adjust bars for the slick, but I wanted to try a "slick track shock package" of sorts to see if I could help it some.

    Thanks for the help!

yeah, those were the hot ticket 3 years ago in the slick.... now numbers like 12-2 on LR and 2-12 on RF..... 6-2 LF....4-4 RR is about all that is the same .....plus adjusting gas pressure with the schrader valve shocks and nitrogen before most races......nowadays they don't even talk much about valving numbers.. it dyno sheet stuff with pounds @ 3 inches per second and 6 inches per second velocities....

No problem.. but I beleive you are going to have to move the RR forward to get some speed. 1/8 at time.

OK got it, I believe Shaw has the RR trailed but cannot remember how much. I will check on that starting square and go from there. thanks

Yea I hear that but our budget will not allow for the new tech shocks.
We are still on the QA1s for a while.
Trying to choose my battles and keep a good motor going with good tires, not much meat left on the bone after that.....LOL

You can still get those valvings w/ your QA1 stuff. I just built a 4-8 and 4-10. The dyno i used i had to go two steps higher on the rebound side to get desired valving. Meaning based on the QA1 chart my 4-8 was really a stack for a 4-10 and my 4-10 was really a stack for a 4-12. Marshall at QA1 was pretty good about helping me on the phone. Also throw a plug in here thanks Paul Edwards at Shock Doc for working with me. He normally does sprint style stuff but took some time with me for my mod.

I would move the RR lower bar down 1 hole. that will tighten car all the way through corner.
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.

yeah, I'm in the same boat on budget.... but like Powerslide said... you can get creative with low bucks also..... I found a bilsten for the RF that is a 2 comp / 12 reb for $140 new.... you have to look close because bilsten list the reb numbers first.... I also found a 6-2 for the LF from Day... an afco 7 " for $99...... had a decent gas LR 9-2 and a 4/4 RR on coilover .... poor mans slick package......
I won't buy a "slick package" from some yahoo that won't give the valving numbers.... I could be buying 10 yr old technology....
