I never said I expected a spec to compete head up, although it would at a few places where Hp is not as important. I expect supers to be supers, sorry that ruffles your feathers.

Doesn't ruffle my feathers at all.I've been racing for 40years and I'm smart enough to know their is such a thing as handicapping different size engines in the same race.Anyone who expects a spec motor to race even up with a 450ci all aluminum is not real smart.
Race tracks have to try to get all the cars they can and not everyone can afford a 450ci 9* all aluminum engine.Local racing and regional racing has a much tougher deal trying to get WOO and Lucas cars to show up for a $3000.00 to win show.

i think the argument here is if you have the most money you win. lol , if all the complaining keeps on about spoilers then they need to go back to weight rules and make these unlimited ci engines weigh 2500 pds , the weight break for a all steel or spec engine is irrelivant because most cant take advantage of the weight break.

Those persons held in pretty high esteem that you refer too are WOO and Lucas drivers that are not going to a $3000.00 to win local or regional race.When they do show up and get beat they raise he!! And say they are never coming back and you got some promotors like TST in Alabama and Colombus in Mississippi that changes their rules to cater to them.
If the little steel block motors don't get a spoiler break then they don't need to support a racetrack that treats them that way.

Y'all act like everyone with an open motor has a brand new one. Some have older ones and choose to run those because they're pretty universally the same as far as rules.

I'm sure some have more in those new specs than others do in those second hand aluminums.

You haven't bought an unlimited all aluminum race engine lately have you.They are up around $42,000.00 now and a new spec is around $12,000.00 In fact the spec that won last years Cabin Fever race I sold for $5,000.00

Again with the failing to comprehend what you read.....seriously? Yeah a new Rousch-Yates is 40k, but not everyone running an open motor has one. While were at it lets give 10" spoilers for 388ci or less, 11" if your motor is 3 years old or older.

You could on a small track take a 604 crate motor claim it as a spec motor get the spoiler, the weight break,and put a 2 inch spacer under the carb and keep up pretty good.
