Hard to believe, but an asphalt track (Greshams/Peach State) 20 miles away had a better car count (23 late models) than WoO's 20 at Lavonia.
WoO: 20 cars at Lavonia?

you have crate and steel head to thank for that low car count. It s a new fadd in the south you pay purse from back gate no fans show up because they want and wait on a superlatemodel show or just watch a super on ppv or niext day on dod or watch a cup night race.the promoters make no money and last for a season or less.Dixie speedway promoter is the only smart guy in the south!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the last post I guess us at Talladega are not smart either, heck we "only" had 33 Super Late Model cars for a $2000-to-win show with over 70 Late Models in 3 classes run. Then we really must be dumb according to the previous poster, we "only" had 35 Super Late Models for a $4000-to-win show. Also, there were 75+ total Late Models on the grounds. There are smart promoters in the South, I work for one of 'em. Oh yea, we also must be dumb for having great crowds for both nights.

mark let me re word what I said Any track in the south that has a weekly super program is very smart, they are trying to hang onto the super late models, meaning why dixie promoter is smart by boosting his super weekly payout to $2000 to win.Any track that runs a weekly super program I give a aplus too.....I just dont see tracks going to crates and steelheads making it...the tech part of the crates is a nightmare you go pay 5000.00 for a motor have to spend another 5000.00 on the blue print cheat up and you have a motor that cant even be bored 4.030 over when the block is worn its a throw away...it all comes down to the folks in the stands want. they want supers you just don't get those big money making crowds with the crates and steel heads...Last edited by crownman25; 05-04-2014, 07:56 PM.

I think the biggest factor was there were to many other races going on last night.as to the previous post whats the purpose of running super when u only get three or four cars on a regular saturday night i get a laugh when people claim crate killed super latemodel if the cost of running supers hadnt went thru the roof we wouldnt even be talking about crate latemodel today

bowtech ive been around racing for over 30 years .I would never have dreamed things would have turned out the way that they have....those super motors have gone out of sight but you can have diff weight and spoiler rules to make lower budget engines be competitive tst sat is proof....if the national touring series would try something I think smaller less expensive motors could be competitive meaning bigger spoilers more weight heck maybe even a restrictor plate, its just a thought all my above post are my opinion which is what this forum is about...

There's pros and cons to the smaller engine theory your talking about I think one of the biggest down falls is most series don't want to deal with the tech nightmare that different engine packages bring.personally I think there's just to many different series running these days Now with the 525 on the rise steel head may be next on the chopping block .believe when I say I'm on your side id love to see super come back to weekly racing I just don't believe crate is responsible for the down fallLast edited by bowtech; 05-04-2014, 10:01 PM.

ONLY 18 SUPERS - THE #3 & #102 ARE LOCAL LIMITEDS.
Was a good race with only 1 caution to let ambulance out of pits due to a person needing medical assistance in grandstand.
McCreadie & Lanigan & Eckert could work the high side which was unusal for Lavonia never seen nobody work the top there the way these three could. Was a good show with three different leaders all three green flag passes. Lanigan passed Tmac in traffic and he passed catdaddy on the outside. Was as dusty as a day race but could see with googles on. Drivers said the track had mutli groove was racey during post race interview. Congrads to Lavonia Staff and Outlaw staff believe outlaw main was over by 10:30 so traveling folks got out at real decent time. Place was packed hope thats a sign Lavonia by on 2015 schedule.

Wonder if location has anything to do with it? Lavonia isn't the easiest place to get to unless you're pretty close by.
