Lots of factors in play here. Location, competing events, they don't run supers weekly thus no "local" cars, plus frankly it ain't the most racy joint I've ever been too.

Fair enough crownman25, I get your viewpoint. If you happen to have gone either night at Talladega,it was so cool. Great and enthusiastic fans, smokin' racin' with good fields. The atmosphere was flippin' good too. Was a special weekend, like days gone past, old school track with action in all races. Talladega is indeed the premiere track in Bama for Supers and all Late Models in general.

I think there's an unwritten WoO rule: "Winner must praise the track prep and condition." When I arrived at 6:00, the track was near-perfect - but a packer car continued to make lap after lap. By 9:30, when racing began, it was a dust bowl.

I saw a great race for the lead for 50 laps, yes there could have been more cars, but there were at least 4 other late model races within 100 miles so that affects the car count.

It was dusty, but we are at a DIRT track. All in all i had a great time.

Those complaining about the field size at Lavonia might take note that there was a pretty "stout" field there, nonetheless. Throwing in six local drivers wouldn't have made much difference at all except to cause a traffic snarl.

I absolutely hate crate races I'd rather see kids have a 1 lap bicycle race , supers is what I like to see and the modified on occasion they put on a good show !
