Tire dopes within the series should stop telling racers they are 100% guilty of treating tires.......when they don't have the systems in place to be 100% sure.

Why are you so sure they are in the wrong? I'm wiling to postpone any personal judgement and wait and see what comes out in court. I don't trust any big organizations to do the right thing anymore, especially if they mess up. So while I don't condone ANY cheating, period. I won't be boycotting until it is settle to my liking. I'm 46 and I've seen many times a company or organization chose to railroad the little guy over doing the honorable thing. Did you know they are selling software to companies now designed to monitor all company employee communications in an effort to "specifically" stop whistle blowers. Seems to me that should be illegal. So I'll wait and see if the Fab 5 are indeed guilty or if big brother WoO dropped the ball and don't want to admit it. If your conviction is certain that they are guilty then you do what you think is best, but I think there is enough doubt surrounding it to ask a few questions before sentence is passed.

I do not get the thinking that a judge or a jury is going to be the deciding factor whether or not you think these guys broke the rules. They are going to hear what each side WANTS them to hear. A judge that does not like racing may take the side that would hurt the sport the most, while a judge that likes the sport may take the side that is best for the sport..... It's not always about the facts. Many times these things are won by finding loopholes or providing doubt, whether its true in the specific incident or not. Innocent people sometimes go to jail and guilty people sometimes walk free, the courts do not always get things right either. It seems some on here want to take things that were said in the complaint filed with the court as facts. A person can say anything they want when filing a suit, that does not make it true.
I have been criticized for my opinion by the champion posters on here, I will explain why I feel the way I do.
1) I do not believe ANY system is perfect and I think doubt can be raised in ANY situation. Allowing excuses and picking apart a system that every competitor agreed to compete under doesn't make sense to me. If you think the system is rigged or someone involved is out to get you, then stand up for yourself and don't participate. This isn't the first time someone has criticized the sanctioning body AFTER getting caught for not being in compliance with the rules, yet they keep competing with the series. I stress, only complaints are after they are on the wrong side of rule enforcement.
2) 5 of 32 tested against a benchmark. 27 tested within the benchmark. IF there is something these 5 guys had in common (like they purchased them from the same place) that the others didn't then that would be useful information, but nothing has been suggested like that.
3) The only one caught that has not had some sort of ties to illegal tires is Saterlee. That doesn't mean he hasn't, it's just not common knowledge like it is with the others.

No, this doesn't mean that the drivers were aware or that these guys are bad people IMO

Now, if you want to raise speculation about the lab itself, then that's on the lab. If you want to raise speculation about it being a hoosier problem, that's on hoosier. It is WRG's responsibility to enforce the rules, they can't give out free passes because you have a reason why the rules were broken. If hoosier sold you bad tires, sue hoosier. If you think the lab messed up, sue the lab. By suing the sanctioning body and the track owner you are putting the blame on them and them only, excusing the lab and hoosier from responsibility. I could see why someone enforcing rules wouldn't like Scott, but the others.... why would they be singled out? Obviously it's not because they race with Lucas or the winner would have been on the list also. I just do not think the sanctioning body had anything to gain by DQing these guys. Sure Scott has stunk up the show on occasion, but he didn't even make the race in this instance. IDK, it's all my opinion and I prefer to applaud the efforts to enforce the rules. no matter who was involved. This all from a big Owens fan.......

About the scales....... it is what it is. It's been said that Ohio and Illinois have the same laws in regards to being inspected. I know what I was told by the Illinois dept of weights and measures when I was 9 lbs light on uncertified scales, we will see what the courts say about this case.
