When they sent the tire samples to the lab, wasn't that proof. All the others passed, but these 5. If I owned the track and they sued me, I'd tell them to never come back. It survived well before them, and it will survive without them. I applaud WRG, and UMP for standing their ground!

This was my point, too many people are ready to declare guilt without all the evidence, just press releases by the ones with a vested interest in appearing to be in control. It may turn out WRG labs did everything correctly and that over 100 racers nationwide were cheating in the exact same way. If its true about a special ban against those pursuing the lawsuit, to me that sounds like strong arm tactics, intended to get the fab 5 to back down and break ranks. Does it not seem strange? That 5 different guys, with diverse personalities and no obvious technological links would ban together in a suit, if they weren't sure of their innocence. Sure a couple of them have been caught doing stuff before, but what about Bshepp, I never heard anyone say one negative thing about him. I've raced myself on and off for many years and know not everybody cheats. I'm willing to give the fab 5 the benefit of the doubt until they have their day in court, but hey I'm just an American who believes in that kinda crazy patriotic stuff. If a track or sanctioning body expects the racer to play by the rules, maybe the track or sanctioning body should as well. To do otherwise is the definition of hypocrisy.

Seems kind of two-faced to expect the drivers to follow the rules if you as a track are not going to.

If the wrg testing were more transparent , the collection and chain of custody 100% sterile from top to bottom then I think most people would agree with you 100%.....I know I would.

This whole deal is about doing business... no more no less. Since the two parties are so far apart the only way to get an agreement is to get the civil courts involved. No difference if you buy a house and find the previous owner hid some defects in the home. Did they intentionally alter the tires or was the testing done by the lab faulty... or were the tires built with a faulty rubber compound?

It's in the hands of the court system right now... it's how we handle things like adults here in America.

As far as the ban goes WRG needs to be careful how they handle this IMHO. Back in the 80's one of the tracks I worked at wanted to ban a certain driver for alleged cheating and rough driving. Our attorneys advised us to work it out with the driver... they felt the laws 'banning' someone from making a living would wind up in a lengthy and costly court battle.

Suspensions are one thing... being banned brings in a whole 'nother set of rules.

Just messing around. I got a some friends in Indiana that love him and are good decent people. But I honestly believe the majority of his fans fits my description. My group of racing buds started noticing this 6 or 7 years ago.
