Will probably go????Originally posted by W2Racing09 View PostFirst of all I wasn't aware that the World 100 was a touring event. Which tour is it a part of?
Also -- no backpeddaling needed. Mandating that you buy your tires from the series is not the same as mandating certain rules about the tires you run. When the WoO starts rolling into town telling drivers they can't use the tires that they run at their local track. That is when the issue arises. If the two tours starting saying you can't groove, or you can't sipe, or both then most of the tracks will probably go with the same rule and the drivers will be able to use their weekly tires at tour races just as they do now. No problem.
Is that more speculative conjecture or do you have data to support it.......real data, not Jeffdata.

Money earned this year? $10k+ wins this year by tour? How many crown jewels have been won this year by each tour? I can tell you that the MARS guys would finish last in every category. Payton Looney does not have a website but judging by the top 2 (of 4) cars running the MARS series they have combined for 4 wins this season. Josh Richards alone has that many wins by himself on the LOLMDS... where he has only made a hand full of starts this season. He has 4 times that amount just in WoO wins, and Clanton has twice that amount by himself in WoO wins. Meanwhile the WoO is 6-2 against Bloomquist and 12-0 against Davenport. While the LOLMDS is 3-4 against Richards (he finished either 2nd or 3rd in the races he didn't win). I quickly scanned over the numbers so there certainly is a margin for error on those numbers, but not nearly enough of a margin to put the MARS anywhere near the level of the WoO.Originally posted by zach51 View PostJust as much data as you have claiming that I am wrong....

You are more than welcome to go find me a quote where I said a rule not allowing grooving or siping is going to kill the sport. I've certainly said forcing drivers to buy tires at each tour race is going to hurt it immensely. In fact in the big long tiregate lawsuit post I said that there needs to be rules to save drivers time (In that context I think I was talking about not allowing tire prep because it would cost a lot more time in addition to the crazy amount of time drivers already have to spend grooving and siping) and you yourself argued with me about it saying that if I don't have time to prep tires then I shouldn't be racing.Originally posted by Barbecueboy View PostWill probably go????

@Zach (won't let me quote)
Mandating that you buy your tires from the series:
Drivers are not allowed to use tires that were not bought from the series the day of the race. Meaning any tires they had previously cannot be used for anything.
Mandating certain rules about the tires you run:
Drivers are not allowed to use tires that are (for example) siped, or grooved. They are still allowed to use tires previously purchased if they meet that criteria.
Again, common sense dictates that if the tours used that rule, the tracks would use that rule. That is how it happens in DLM racing. If you dispute that you are just looking to argue.
Is there anything else I need to explain for you? I apologize as I forgot the audience I'm working with here and didn't stop and take the time to explain my comment in the initial post. Let me know if you need help sounding out the words as I can provide phonetic descriptions for any of them you are having trouble with.
Thanks,
Jeff.

You're using the words " common sense" and " tire rule" in the same sentence????Originally posted by W2Racing09 View Post@Zach (won't let me quote)

Somebody please go over to jeffs house and make sure he didn't fall down and hit his dam head.........guy has been fighting the common sense element through this whole tire debate and now wants to use it as fuel for his argument????
Guess where that's going to take him and his anti change views on tires????
All the way to the crash site!!......RIP jefftalk.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

W2, again, (for the 3rd or 4th time) I never said MARS was as good as WOO. In fact, I'm starting to get concerned because it seems as though you are arguing with yourself.
And again, (for the 300th or 400th time) nobody says Richards is a bum. He is good.

I'm still trying to figure out how you went from arguing in favor of tire prep to arguing in favor of the absolute opposite. Wasn't it just the other day you were criticizing people who were talking about the health risks of tire prep and now you are acting like the biggest proponent of the idea of buying completely unaltered tires from the series at each race.Originally posted by Barbecueboy View PostYou're using the words " common sense" and " tire rule" in the same sentence????

Your idea of a common sense tire rule and mine seem to be very different.

I understand that, I'm asking you to justify your reasoning behind saying that WoO is closer to MARS than it is LOLMDS. You said you didn't have anything to back it up just like I didn't so I posted some info to back up my side.Originally posted by zach51 View PostW2, again, (for the 3rd or 4th time) I never said MARS was as good as WOO.
