Ok, so it was the race I was thinking it was. Last year the highlights where very much improved over the year before. Some say it was the rain. I believe the passing point format tends to make a multi groove track, because of the lack of time trials beating in one groove and making it the dominant groove. The dominant groove may move up the track, but it is still the dominant groove. Passing points uses more of the track earlier in the evening, making a wider track that stays that way. After one decent race, I'm looking forward to see how it goes this year. I know we can't put a order in for rain but are they still using the double heat passing point format?

And that's the one Bloomer broke in. Yeah, it was pretty good though. I remember that mod race being amazing.

Yea the mods usually put on a great show. JHawk always puts on a good show. Greggie Oliver actually won it one year.

Yep. In that 20 car, one I'm talking about. Then again, mods in our area are pretty dang good.

They would just blow it again. That place would go one lane every time. They don't cut the track anymore and the only place to run is against the cushion. Lucas race in August was a good example of the racing you would get.

But the hard downpour of rain for 30-45 minutes at 3pm had nothing to do with the rougher than normal track conditions right.

I race there quite a bit, and it is multi-groove, no cushion, and racy from top to bottom.

I think Portsmouth has done the best with what they've had presented to them. The day race wasn't bad and the Bsheps win was a good 75 laps too. Way better than the last DTWC at Atomic holy cow I swore I'd never go back but it changed hands and now they put on a good show every week.

The track prep used to be good there. The daytime DTWC was actually a good race.

Before they made the track bigger the track prep was good. Now they are too concerned about cars rolling on the big track, so they try to make it slow and smooth. But with the high banks they can still get pretty fast. Just one lane though.

Thank god he did lose it. Atomic is so much better off now a days. That race locked down in hot laps and almost had a riot before feature time. I remember Tim Dohm won the NQ race and pretty much told me how it was and took the money and ran!

I still have the last check I got at the pay window racing there. We paid cash at the pit gate to get in and got a bad check for racing there! I wasn't the only one and some people were owed a lot of money!

thats to bad they probably bought it contract for deed had bad credit dumb move by the former owners on the fans and drivers he got it back and didnt have to pay anyone back win win for him asswipe

I had heard the same thing. They had a 5k to win a week or two before the dtwc that year, which was won by Jason Montgomery. I heard he never did get paid for it, along with a lot of others too that weekend.

That years dtwc was the worst race I've ever seen to date. Like said above, he knew he was about to lose the place, and just took everyone's money and ran. Had no care in the world about the racing. Which is sad, cuz it pretty much tarnished the name of that track, even after Brad bought it. But he's turned it around 100%

Excerpt from the track website at the beginning of 2011:
Schrader continued to address other issues and dispel rumors. “I want to address one issue; an issue in particular that I thought I could resolve by now, but didn’t. The 2010 point fund has not been paid, but it will be paid. I apologize that I didn’t get this out sooner. It spawned a lot of bad press.”
“The top five drivers in respective divisions will get their share of the point money by July 1, 2011 and one free pit pass until July 2. Positions 6-10 will get one free pit pass for the first half of the season through July 2. I think this will be more than fair to the drivers.“

A good friend of mine finished 3rd in 410 sprint points in 2010.
He received a check for $75 in June of 2011.
