Curfews are a good thing.

Curfews SUC!!!!!! I like 3 classes, Late Model, A-Mods and B-Mods. We run restrictor plate(IMCA) racing. I seen enough sh!t shows with the other classes, that I have no interest at all to watch. Getting back to the original thread, if you go to a race to be home at a certain time DON'T GO PERIOD!!!!!!!!

I think curfews suck too, especially if sprints are involved. If anyone remembers last year's Charlotte race and how many times the sprints got upside down and tore down the fence. A curfew would absolutely kill a show like that.

I like watching those things, but they make a mess when they wreck sometimes.

A great post this has put a lot of tracks out of business I've always thought that instead of running so many classes run 3 or 4 an add the money from the classes that you are not running to the ones you are running that way you draw more cars in each class and the car count should of be about the same l see people leaving the race track all the time when it starts getting late I would hate to know somebody left a race track I was running that didn't see the feature there's plenty of tracks out of business because they choice to run til 1 or 2 in the morning.

I think Curfews can be good for the most part, of course it obviously sucks if it rains during the show and they have to can it because they can't get the track run back in in time to beat the curfew. Ideally a track should have three regular classes. For instance, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks and 4 CYL and one touring class (in my area that would be Legends, Micro Sprints, Classic Cars, or on nights when you charge more at the gate perhaps Super Late Models, 410 Sprints or similar). If someone ran an entertaining show with very little down time, that was over weekly by 10PM that ran CLM, Stocks and 4 CYL and charged $6-$7 admission that place would probably get a ton of fans.

So that means not bringing children, how many times have you seen parents leave before a feature because dumba$$ promotors don't know how to run an efficient race program or stall so they can sell one more hot dog.

My take on curfews is that tracks put themselves in that position by not starting on time, having too many (and long) breaks, and the utter lack of "sense of urgency".

Tracks that start on time, don't take breaks and always have a sense of urgency (cars ready to go on the track for the next race with 3 or 4 laps to go in the race prior) don't seem to have any issues getting over at a decent hour or the need for a curfew.

Subsequently, when those tracks that generally get done at a decent hour have an off night or something out of their control happen (power outage for example), the neighbors don't complain and no curfew is instituted.

Bonus part about tracks that start on time and end at a decent hour is they become FAMILY Entertainment as opposed to "the races".

You guys are right. Curfews do suck. Sometimes they're a necessity like at my home track. Sits basically in the middle of town. Cars have to be on the track and take the green flag no later than 11:00. Never been a issue that I can recall.

Travelers Rest Speedway, in Travelers rest South Carolina run a Front wheel drive 4 cylinder race this past saturday night, September 24th that paid $6,000 to win. What's crazy is I'm telling yall in the south the money to be made is in the 4 cylinder classes. This class that ran for $6,000 to win has a $2,000 buy rule on the car. I know yall have some opinions on that and I would love to hear them. What up old fan.........................
