    Fairbury Speedway

Fairbury gets a fresh track surface to go with the new fencing. New safety fence is almost finished. Looking forward to a schedule release soon.

Ive never been there but it sounds like that would be the best track to see. One of these days....just dont understand why more towns with tracks dont embrace them like Fairbury. It would help their economy.
If I havent offended you please be patient Ill get to you as soon as I can...... and yes Im a Bloomquist fan...deal w it!!! WWG1WGA!!!

I went for the first time last year for the summer nationals race. Could not believe how packed it was and the racing is fantastic!

Great place... saw my first race there circa 1956 with my nephews when my brother farmed in nearby Chatsworth. Had our 60th 'race anniversary' there during the PDC this summer... same guys... same track... same fun. Well worth the 300 mile drive for me...

Sad thing is, 30 miles away at Farmer City, the city hates the track, and they haven't even replaced the toilet paper.

Lance and his crew member received a recognition from the Chamber of Commerce this year. I think the city is coming around in support of the track. Local businesses sponsor the track. Hopefully their additional big show this year will start to allow them funds to make facility improvements the way Fairbury is. They communicate well with Fairburys team and seem to be learning alot as they go.

I grew up and live between the two tracks. 3 times last year I made the trek south. No food much past the heats, restrooms are beyond unusable other than peeing, and no sound around turns 1 and 2. All of this after reading how things have changed.........BS. I go to FALS every week, as I would FC, except they are just talk. No improvements, or from what I can tell, that they are even trying.
I would love to go every week, but I will be waiting for some proof that it isn't lip service again.

FYI, my son grew up in FC and I heard first hand how the town despised the track. I hope the change is happening as you say, as a strong FC/FALS is a good thing for all of racing.

Racing at FC isn't bad, but it isn't in the same league as FALS!

Fairbury is run by the people in town... And now so is farmerCity. If you are so big of race fan go and help the change the toilet paper .. they have made a lot of improvements.. And if you cant see them you are BLIND.. They have been fixing what they can and each year they try to fix more can not do it all in one year...Why dont you be the helper and not the a$$ hole that just whines all the time...

It is their job to provide quality entertainment for their customers. Till they do that, I will continue to voice my opinion. I don't have to volunteer my time to be able to tell them they are doing a crappy job.
I went 3 times last year, and NOTHING they said was improved was fixed. No sound in 1 and 2 any of the 3 nights. Bathrooms are TERRIBLE, and even if you are blind, the smell will tell the tale. Food service was out by intermission. Same things I bitch about every time. Fix the bathrooms, fix the PA, how about a scoreboard, maybe some bleachers that you don't wounder if they are gonna fall apart (turn 1).

Farmer City usually has good racing, BUT you are correct in how much of a dump the place is. They are also never in a hurry to get a show over with. We drove 3 hours to watch 3 big races this year. We weren't leaving till after midnight. Hence the reason I am reluctant to keep going back every night. These tracks have to realize if they want a big show and fans to come that we all don"t live in the town the track is in. A good portion of us have to drive home or work the next day.

which would be what , too many classes on a special night, again are you going for the race or the creature comforts if the speakers are not good in turn 1 duh move to where you can hear them, I've been to fancy facilities but the racing stunk and guess what I was reluctant on going back, the only complaint about both tracks is you sit too far back from the track
