One of the reasons that auto racing is such a great IN-PERSON experience is that it touches so many of our senses. You see the speed of the cars, you smell the fuel and tires burning, you feel the dirt rain on your face, and you hear the mighty engines at work.
Going electric eliminates a great deal of this and the experience will be diminished as a result. This, combined with the inevitable advent of self-driving cars on the roads, leaves a bleak future for motorsports in general. I'm not a dooms-dayer like so many that have been saying that dirt racing will be gone in 5 years for the last 30 years. But I will tell you this: in 100 years, motorsports will be a part of the worlds history and practiced only by few. Much the way that sewing competitions or lumberjack competitions exist today. As a nostalgic event. In the not-to-distant future, the general population will be neither entertained nor impressed with the ability to drive a vehicle with great precision.

Awesome post. I'm a huge mx/sx fan. They have invented a electric dirt bike, and I hope to god they don't ever decide to mandate all to teams switch to those things, for things you mentioned in your post. They have the speed of a 250f, which is impressive not doubt. All you hear is chain slap, and the compression of the suspension. It's almost depressing me thinking about it.

Cows were not made to eat Corn they are much better off eating grass...Feeding them corn is a waste.. If you dont be leave me look it up...Grass fed cows taste much better in a Hot grill....

That corn fattens 'em up so you get that nice marbling...

Making ethanol only uses the sugars from the process. The remaining 'distillers grain' feeds cattle and is being developed to be used in many different ways. It's a win-win for farmers and cattle producers. Plus ethanol makes some pretty good Bourbon if you leave it sit in charred oak barrels...
