What the hell are you talking about? Every gas station here in Iowa has ethanol blend pumps.
I think he may be referring to e-85? If that's the case I can agree with him that it's pretty hard to find around my area, though I have no need for it so I don't go searching it out. But 95% of gas stations around here have at least 10% ethanol content, you can buy 100% gas at a few select stations.

The only places in our area where you can purchase straight gasoline without ethanol is at marina's that service watercraft and boats. Boat engine fuel system's don't like moonshine. This is especially true of older I/O's and outboards. Ethanol with cause a world of problems. I know, we own an older boat and I have to be careful not to winterize and store it with ethanol blend gasoline in it.

Other than marina's there are no gas stations where one can buy gasoline sans ethanol that I'm aware of. If there were any I'd buy gas from them 'cause I have a couple of road vehicles in addition to the boat that require leaded fuel and are not designed to burn ethanol.

Making ethanol only uses the sugars from the process. The remaining 'distillers grain' feeds cattle and is being developed to be used in many different ways. It's a win-win for farmers and cattle producers. Plus ethanol makes some pretty good Bourbon if you leave it sit in charred oak barrels...
