How much "cheating" is actually taking place in Crate Late Model racing?

I have seen Riley Hickman in a worn out looking CVR with some oil pro shocks win some pretty stacked crate shows!!!! Have no idea about his Motor but Erkile didn’t mind us taking a look at the car and shocks!!!! So not sure shocks are all that in that deal????

I can only speak for the St Louis area, but when they tried it here....it lasted a couple years....the cheating was off the charts. Ever how bad you can imagine...then triple that. Short of putting some kind of tamper proof seal that sends a direct signal to the FBI if broken with the death penalty as punishment...it aint ever gonna work. People will cheat their a's off to win. Its not just latemodels....modifieds its just as bad.

You’re 100% correct. Especially with the crates and every horsepower counting. And then you give one of the licensed Honest Abe builders a kick back and wa la, a legit “legal” crate motor.

I was reading on DoD's racewire that last year's winner of the $10k Nesmith crate race in Milton FL was DQ'ed for using illegal fuel.

like I've said before, get rid of the crates (there spending crazy money today) take that and add to the super purses and watch supers grow again, some will go to supers and some will go down to mods, and there isn't anything wrong with that, hell if you can win in a mod, most of the time youll be a beast in a super anyways, because the small tires teach you to keep the car under you, we ventured into crates 10 years ago, and i seen where it was going then, if we went to a series race we ran up front (they teched good back then), when we went to the local races we would kill them through the corner just to get killed when they got straightened for the straight away, you don't beat a guy through the corner and get smoked down the strait away with out some extra power

The 3 car was throwed out because of fuel a number 1 car won.Its a little harder to sneak something by NeSmiths tec guys then the local track guys checking there buddy's car

Nesmith is like all other series! It is who you are that matters when it comes to tech. It’s happens anytime you have humans. No way around it,look the other way “if” you want to.The only way everyone would ever get a fair shake is if there was opened up rules!!! Let the smartest,hardest working, or richest do whatever. If you can’t check stuff right out in the open with everyone watching, then someone will always have a chance at “getting by” the rules.

Ah, someone with some sense. The seals only encourage promoters/tech men to be lazy. Outlawing blue printing was the second dumbest thing ever done, it only insures that those with mucho dinero will have the best stuff, because Mr. Deep Pockets can buy 10 engines, dyno them all and run the best one. While Joe Average can buy 1 engine and he's stuck with how it came. With blue printing at least you can be sure you are as good as anyone else that's legal. Ditch the seals and bring back blue printing and honest tech. Sealed, everybody engine the same is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Its lazy man, socialized racing at its worst.

Seals don't mean much one shop has factory like seals that when you look at it tec man says look seals are factory,also makes it easier to cheat customer, look those are gm seals it's a brand new motor, what that don't know it's used junk cause once you start it an run it a little who's going know
