As many have said, it's only an opinion poll and unfortunately is widely taken as gospel. My biggest complaints with the poll is that just like last season, the voting was unanimous for almost the entire season. I think the biggest reason for that is they give equal weight to wins on the WoO and Lucas tours.

I like B-Shep, but it wasn't like he dominated when running against non-WoO competition, which is what I would expect when he consistently gets the unanimous vote as the top driver. It was the same deal as last season with Josh Richards. Rightfully they rank the rest of the WoO field significantly lower than their Lucas counterparts and top non-touring drivers in the poll, but don't seem to take that into consideration when voting for the top driver.

In my opinion there is no clear cut #1 driver. Richards, Bloomer, T-Mac, Marlar, Overton and B-Shep all had great seasons. With no one else setting themselves apart from the rest, B-Shep probably deserves it as much as anyone, but I just can't understand how not one person on the DoD panel thought that the champion of the top national touring series, Josh Richards, was worthy of a vote and with the Lucas points so close that no one would pick T-Mac or Bloomer.
