When the Crate and limited sanctions are excluded from the Super races, then we can complain about Super drivers at Crate shows.
One of the great things about LM racing is the amateurs can run with the professionals. If they want they can come to any race and try their hand at making or even ẃinning the race. Let's see you do that with baseball, basketball or football. When the Supers exclude lower ranked drivers, we can exclude the Super drivers from the Crate races. If that took place, you would probably have to buy a franchise or your number to race a Super. Then there would be something like 20 guaranteed spots for the series drivers and 4 for new racers to try to break in for a 24 car race, much like NASCAR does. I don't think anyone wants that. I like the idea of a farm boy kicking the hay seeds out of his cuff and putting a whoopin an the pros. Not a welfare check for winning a race that excluded good drivers. That would probably be the demise of both Crates and Supers eventually. Who is going to travel more than to the next town to see a second class race, and both the Supers and Crates, would be, when they start excluding racers.
It would be easy to exclude drivers at Crate series races. Just make so many provisionals for regulars that it deters some from coming, just like the traveling Super series do now.Of course you would call it, rewarding the series followers, not exclusion.
There was a day, when you could build a car in your garage and take it to Daytona with a even playing field. That is long gone. Tech didn't kill that, exclusion did.
