I think midgets would be an awesome show. I dont know how well the non wing and winged sprints would do in that tight of an area.

I would wholeheartedly agree that an upper echelon (USAC/POWRi National) midget show would likely be entertaining on the dome track. The question is, when would it be feasible to run it? There is already a long established and high quality USAC National Midget event nearby on the same weekend as the late models and a week long show that is the biggest dirt racing event of the year is little more than 3 weeks later.

Duquoin was a POWRI show prior to USAC coming in. Why not run sprint cars in the Dome the week prior just like Bellcair.

Those cars sure do move alot of dirt. That dirt does not pack well, its almost like it has too much sand in it? One of 2 things will happen. Either alot of ruts and flips or alot of down time as they rework the track all the time.

Yes, Du Quoin was a POWRi sanctioned show prior to 2015. Not sure what that would have to do with anything.

I presume you mean BelleClair. I don't know of any track in the vicinity of Du Quoin or St. Louis that races the week before Du Quoin or the dome.

Du Quoin? The dome would look like Eldora compared to Du Quoin. At least the Indoor DuQuoin I saw about 10 yrs ago. Is there a newer building now?

Nope, it's the same building and track. Some of the best racing I've ever seen has been at the Du Quoin Mini Magic Mile. I'd like to get some measurements of both Du Quoin and St. Louis. From what I saw last year the difference in length is noticeable but not huge. Du Quoin is great for midgets but it would be way too small for full sized sprint cars as I suspect St. Louis would be, as well.

I was at both of those fiasco's, zach. You're right, the St. Louis track is far and away more adept at producing at least decent racing. If I hadn't spent so much money attending both the Kemper and Indy disasters they would have been oddly amusing.

Dome track has been widened by ten feet this year...witch I dont see helping if they let em cut the corners off again this year...they need to put them dividers out closer to the corner to stop that...

I doubt that's what they were going for by widening the track. It's probably more on the lines of trying to give the guys a lil more room to come off the corners. To cut that out, they may as well just cover everything in dirt and don't leave and exposed concrete, that's thats they biting on last year once it got rubber laid down on it. With the drop off between the dirt surface and the concrete floor this year, we won't see them cutting the corners anyway. The track has been raised up since last year as well.

Good ya I seen it was 4-6 inch drop off hope that will upset the car enought to keep em from doing it...

4-6 inches is about perfect to drop the left front over it and help get the car to turn on the bottom. But in all honesty a 4-6 inch difference in track height on the bottom isnt terribly significant on dirt. The issue with infield tires is long green flag runs. once they start getting "accidentally" scooted in, then the bottom of the track becomes like last year. The chilibowl berm seems to work well for midgets and helps add the bottom line with the sort of reverse banking and hanging the Left front over effect, but all classes seem affected differently by berms like that.
