If CJ was serious he would have put a driver in his car that doesn't tear up equipment and can run 3 laps the same if needed CJ does not have that its fact seen this guy the first time on the track at Butler motor speedway in Michigan I'm not just running off the mouth here I know racing and I have seen Rusty race as much probably more than anyone WRONG GUY IN THIS CAR

CJ donates tubing and the use of Carlos. It really isn't his car to say who goes in it. Rusty has people talking about Rayburn again. Mission accomplished with little to no investment.

It looks like to me that folks on this board like to talk about Rusty almost as much as Bloomquist & Pierce. His threads are third in comments behind those two. Whether they are complaining or rooting him on, people know his name and everyone claims to know him from the early days. Not bad for a "Cherry Picker" that never leaves his home track... Bayco you are completely right, what a lot of these people that argue that just cant see past being a fan of his. I for one like Rayburn and have nothing bad to say about him at all, the truth is hard for some people to see. Do I wish that the car doesn't work and he never builds a car again, not at all and I hope they are competitive and win races, its good for the sport. But to be honest he will never be relevant again unless they win at least a handful of WoO races and wins a crown jewel race, again its just the sad facts of the setting that our sport is in. Big races and series is all that matters and the 30 local wins a year hardly anyone will remember. Again I don't like it but it is the state that Super Late Models are in. Before we know it there will be 100 teams at best.

Most here think Rayburn is lacking something on his chassis. If you know what he is behind on, I'd like to know. What I do know, is CJ is no dummy. He changed my mind on static weight way back when he first started his business. That was when most where running 60% to 70% left side weight. That is a lesson that some haven't really understood yet today. I guess you don't know what you don't know. Just from what I've heard, CJ is a proponent of leaf springs.He even said, "Don't throw them away." Now I see calls for the leaf spring to return.

We have always had magic chassis, and none of them where that far ahead of the others. I don't think CJ is that far behind either. Just look at how many different chassis have won last year.

His newer front geometry is decent. I think a couple small tweaks are needed. His cross member is too low. His newer swing arm geometry is pretty good.

I spent a lot of time modifying the car that Victor Lee drove for CJ at East Bay in 2012? What Rusty has is pretty close to what I wound up with, except I never had the new LR. It was my buddy's car. He got his first ever SLM victory with it in 2015 and it still had Konis on it and a stock block engine under the hood. We borrowed a more modern RF shock and got the car driving pretty darn good.

If you get a car from Rusty, right now, it is capable of winning anywhere. Period.
