So a guy makes a stupid move and wrecks should get in because of who he is instead of the guy of the guy who finished fifth? Why have heat races then lock your big names in and tell your local and regional guys just stay home.

Yeah some many local driver get in the dream and world 100. Not the same top 20 national drivers and the top regional drivers get in. Please it's the same thing but more top regional drivers around the country show up. I guess you can call Jon Henry the small local guy that made the show. One nation tour with 20 drivers would be eldora dream and world 100 driver result.

Except the year Jon Henry got in, unless he did this year, I don’t recall, it was because of fast qualifying laps, not actually racing. It has since changed, and I think he was the reason.

The top guys don’t make stupid moves pretty much ever. Now some guys, Bagley, Chub, Francis, and others, they played it right. Fair, no, but you gotta honor their loyalty, and life ain’t fair.

Their show up points and $ is their provisional, so to speak.. I'm not against a couple provisionals for touring drivers, but it should be limited to the top couple who didn't make it in. The starting field should never get larger or promoters/track provisionals not allowed because there are series guys that didn't make the race.

Most of the time when the big dogs don't make it into the feature it's because they wrecked so they're done for the night anyways. So the provisional is used mostly by the series drivers further down in points, aka Francis last year. If it makes these guys less likely to drop off the tour I'm all for it.

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong but if they stay around 18 cars the local guys are going to have a hard time making a race which is really going to cut down the car count not so much in Florida but whe they get back from Florida.

Yep. 17 or 18 on the tour. 24 make the feature. I would expect a lot of regional guys think twice about their chances of making the show. A tough task just got tougher.

Don’t get me wrong, there are racers that have more money and spend more money on their programs but some of you guys act like these “small time guys” are broke....These guys are pulling into the track with a half a million dollars worth of cars, engines, parts, tools, and hauler. They are not broke. If they were broke, they would be in the stands like me.

If someone shows loyalty to a series, they should get some sort of a reward. The drivers all know there’s provisionals when they sign the entry form. Maybe it’s time fans just go to the races and enjoy it. Just have fun watching the greatest sport in the world and don’t trash it all the time.

I’m a fan. I hate EP’s! 2 series point provisionals only. You a series driver and don’t make the show after 2 points provisionals handed out, you should get 5 series points less than last place in the feature, same amount of money everybody else got that didn’t make the feature, plus tow, and better luck next time. ....it’s usually these EP drivers that cause cautions and screw up the racing up front. ....how bout this. If they gonna have em, make a darrell waltrip rule. Waltrip use to tag along the field on past champion provisional. So they said he could only have so many a year. So let there be only so many EP’s allowed. Flinner would use up his by the time Volusia was over.

Totally agree with dirt crow's comment 2 provisional's (4 at most, 2 for the first half of the season and 2 for the last half of the season), With that amount of touring drivers many regionals are just going to stay home and I would not blame them. I go to the races to see the best cars of the night in the feature not the name's of the drivers.
