You've got to be right. I actually agree with the decision, but why go from "It will be cold but bundle up and we will have coffee etc. etc." to Cancelled without a change in the forecast?

Good call, with the forecast. I’m sure some of you woulda still went, but with them temps, I’ve went to the other ones at Atomic, be sketchy. Wasn’t going Friday, with the temps, and I’m laid off right now.

From a business standpoint I get it, especially if you risk a low turnout fan wise (which is understandable this time of the year).

But I've often wondered what role, if any, teams/drivers might play in decisions like this? If you're a Bloomquist or Richards (just naming names), and you voice displeasure over racing in such cold temps (maybe for equipment's sake), does the series listen?

I'm sure Lucas's decision on Atomic had to do with the forecast for Brownstown being crappy too despite the Atomic folks wanting to race in the cold. Easier to just move the whole weekend.

What sucks for Atomic is they had to cancel their Saturday race too. Can't show any signs of doubt in Lucas's decision...

When I called Atomic to get reserved seats yesterday Brad said he's running regardless. Lucas officials must have made that decision. Or a couple of whiny drivers.

Bloomquist must have not said anything, he would vote just to make it a non-points race after the fact depending on how he ran.

I don't know if Richards would've since he doesn't own the ride. May BPM though. But either way I doubt. For best interest with the drivers and travel they decided to make a good call and to just pull the plug.

And you are the one footing the bill for the series, tracks, and drivers in March in Indiana and Ohio? No. They are rolling the dice and have been pretty lucky. It is a business, and in everyone’s best interest to postpone it.
