No place on Earth is safe from a half drunken, mentally unstable, gun packing idiot...
Plenty candidates at dirt tracks, it's just a matter of time so don't keep fooling yourself...
If you can't worship, study or catch a movie and feel safe, there is No safe...

That's a good point, and it is amazing that it doesn't happen more than it does, even at little league baseball games. At least one thing about racers and race fans, I don't think there are very many people that actually want to seriously hurt or kill someone, they just want somebody to argue with and blame for their poor performance. Nothing wrong with a good fist fight, then the loser has to buy waffle house.Originally posted by wfofan View PostNo place on Earth is safe from a half drunken, mentally unstable, gun packing idiot...

Just out of curiosity, is there any kind of law if you're a conceal carry person that you cant drink alcohol and carry? Anybody?

A couple of years ago my wife and I qualified and received our concealed carry permits through The State of Illinois and it is a class A misdemeanor to blow higher than .08 BAC while carrying a concealed weapon. It is also unlawful to carry on the grounds, ie. parking lot, etc., of any establishment that derives more than 50% of total revenue intake from alcohol. I'm betting law enforcement could make it stick that a racetrack that serves alcohol would be a prohibited CCW area but I don't know that to be a fact.Originally posted by Illtsate32 View PostJust out of curiosity, is there any kind of law if you're a conceal carry person that you cant drink alcohol and carry? I think he had another post in the thread to. He, himself may have been deleted!Originally posted by golddirt View PostI see the black post prior to mine was deleted.
The back of my carry permit states that it is void if "drinking alcohol or using illegal drugs" with no BAC numbers listed. I just treat that as zero tolerance.

If your CCW was issued by Illinois it's .08 BAC. That being said, our CCW instructor was rather emphatic when he editorialized that if you're involved in a defensive shootout the authorities will take a very dim view of the shooter having a BAC of .075 or even much lower. He said it will make it much harder to escape some degree of charges and/or a conviction. He flat out said if you're carrying, don't drink. Just a bad idea all the way around.Originally posted by Chris Thomason View PostI think he had another post in the thread to. He, himself may have been deleted!
