Bloomer and Moyer are a lock.
Purvis? Yeah, I know he was a wheelman but how long was he in our sport?
I would have to say any list would have to include ole Buck Simmons. He was before most folks time on here but just because he never won a Lucas or WoO title, he did win a bunch of big races over a very long career.8/13/16

1981 NDRA champion (Most series wins, 20).
Southern allstar wins
Hav A Tampa wins
Raced Nascar in 79 and 80' (Best finish of 14th at Atlanta).
The first year Dixie Speedway was paved he won every late model race they had for the year.
and the list goes on...
Sadly most on 4m today haven't a clue, to them only what happened last week should count and everyone else with an opinion should just be quiet. There were other car builders and true innovators long before the West Virginia Fruit Company.“Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.†— The Dude

Buck Simmons definitely is a great. But if you cannot admit you have a bias towards Rocket, who did the same thing Longhorn did supposedly, then whatever. And they all go through a cycle. Not just the evil people in Shinnston. He is a smart, shrewd, businessman, with a good partner, and he can be a butthole.Originally posted by CageFaraday View Post1024 career wins.

Yep. I forgot about Buck in my earlier posts. Some of my early slm races was seeing Buck in the BWRC house car.Originally posted by chupp n bloomer fan View PostBuck Simmons definitely is a great. People say that about Mark but that definitely was not my experience with him. He and josh invited "us" to hang out at their trailer. He also said to crawl under the car and ask any questions....and we did! The ultimate businessman in my book!Turn LEFT, Vote RIGHT!

Plain and simple, some people don’t like successful people. I don’t care, more power to you. I know he can be both ways, nice and a jerk. We all can. But I’ve also heard of them really trying to get customers straightened out with their cars. And letting them tag along at times.Originally posted by a25rjr View PostYep. Those who will remain nameless.
I freely admit I will never step foot in Shinnston, WV. At the beginning of this thread it was asked that everyone be respectful of others opinions and NOT to disrupt the thread. I posted the men I thought in my view were the best and made no mention of who I don't like. Then two gentlemen made it a point to single me out because I'm not a fanboy of the West Virginia Fruit Company, so I made reference to that in the post you quoted. I make it a point these days to skip over and not respond to threads involving the aforementioned group. I don't have anything nice to say about them so I choose not to say anything. I like who I like and I try and stick to being positive where I can and leave my negative feelings and experiences unspoken. I propose we move ahead and leave the past in the past. Feel free to call me out in the future if you see me posting anything unflattering about them and I'll take it down. I personally feel that their have been other builders who actually were more innovative than the group who will remain unnamed.Originally posted by chupp n bloomer fan View PostBuck Simmons definitely is a great. Early in my career I had the good fortune to meet and work with several extremely intelligent men who taught me about dirt late models. Frank McClendon who founded Custom Chassis back in the 80's was the first to whom I was exposed and still use his scaling methods and weight principles to this day, even during my karting days. Frank built a plethora of different chassis designs that won many of the early crown jewels. The first car I ever was exposed to from Custom was a torsion bar car, followed by a reverse canti-lever, a 3-link and a 4-link and most were under-slung front and rear like a sprint car chassis. Next came CJ Rayburn, then JigAlo, then Mastersbilt and GRT. During my time with Carrera Racing Shocks I met and worked with many of the greats, 2 are in the HOF(Simmons & Moore). So my experiences are reflected in my choices for Mount Rushmore, who I admire and who are my friends, I left unspoken those who don't impress me.“Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.†— The Dude

I'm not a fan of mark, but have give him and Steve props for what they have achieved and still being on top. Some people didn't like Mark after selling his part of wrc and Steve leaving Bullitt. It was best move they ever did, Mark has hired the best people that understands chassis in the pass and will keep getting the best to stay on top. Hate him or love him can't knock him for what he has done in d.l.m. and for his company.
