What happend was the race director hollered "yellow", and Babb slowed down, only for the green to stay out. He slowed under green because he thought the yellow was out. The yellow came out for a slow car the next lap, and Babb was given his spot back. I didn't know what had happened at the time.Originally posted by Clayton_Wetter View PostIf you screw up under a yellow you don't lose your position. Unless you caused the yellow.Opinions are my own. Gotcha on KKK. She ran KLMS like she is running 66, so there’s that. I’m good.Originally posted by HoosierDirtFan View PostCnB
She left Kankakee because of the Fair board. The County Fair Board there is a complete joke. They have ran off the Izzo Family, O'Connor Family, Osterhoff Family promoted for a year, and they ran off Sherri, and now they are screwing with Tom Smith. Anyone that lives in the Chicagoland region knows the K3 board is a bunch of B.S. You had one bad experience. That doesn't mean she is a bad promoter. The NHRA Sanctioned dragstrip there in Joliet has a lot of say in what the dirt Oval does. But On the flip side this past off season the Fair Board took out an add in a racing magazine looking for a promoter. They say Dave Wennington in the promoter this year but Tom is still there helping.
GOOD DAY FOLKS. SEE YOU ALL LATER.
I'LL try to do a few updates from Plymouth night.Up in the air who my next “favorite†driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normalâ€.

just watched feature video, and saw that as well. WTF was that all about with the Shirley? Feel bad for Rusty Schlenk, innocent victim.

"Shiny Side Up 18A lot of these promoters don't appear to understand that many fans travel a few hours or more for these events (or maybe they just don't care). The people I sat with were very upset about all the screwing around, and they are hard core fans. All the pack trucks in the world weren't going to widen out the groove. It may have actually been a better feature if they hadn't rolled it in after every class. This looked more like a cash grab, since the concessions are the same ones from the NASCAR track ($16 for a sandwich and a watered down lemonade). I'm glad I didn't buy anything at Peoria or Kankakee, because last night made up for those. The track is too flat to widen out in a timely manner. Don't tell me social media is killing this sport. I'm so sick and tired of that horsecrap copout excuse. It's not starting at the advertised time and screwing around all night and keeping everybody there until 11:30 for three classes, two of which were under 15 cars, and running the headlining feature dead last that's killing this sport. I'm a diehard, so I stayed until the bitter end, but I can't imagine how put off a first timer or a casual fan must be after a night like that. These promoters do not care about time management, and biting the hands that feed them will come back to haunt them sooner than later as the core fanbase isn't getting any younger. What happened last night doesn't exactly make me want to go back in """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """""""""""""""""I agree, and what about fans that showed up on time, they just suppose to sit and wait while roasting in the sun?

On the flip side, we we're hoping 66 would announce a later starting time so sitting in the heat could be avoided. When they didn't announce pushing the start time back, we decided to stay home in the ac and watch the Lucas race live on Lucas Oil TV. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) good race it was!

that's what I don't get? Yes. The original owner made enemies with the town, and anyone else was pretty much doomed. And then the highway came through. But her time management, track prep, left a lot to be desired.Originally posted by golddirt View PostKlms was more with the town not wanting the track. You only have one time to make a first impression. If you can't start on time, how are you ever going to impress new fans into coming back. Sorry but I'm with Shiny on this one. When I'm put in this position by a track starting late and screwing around, seldom to I ever return. Promoter need to start paying attention BEFORE it's too late.

She definitely missed Ben Shelton's (excellent) article from a couple of weeks ago about people not wanting to be at a racetrack all night long. That was one of the worst ran programs that I have attended in the last 5 years.
If Bob Sargeant was running that show, then we would have been done by AT LEAST 9 pm (with no more cars than there were there).
I am one of those diehards who travels a lot to special events, but I will not be making any more trips to that place.Last edited by fryefan; 06-18-2018, 01:13 AM.

That is a BS excuse. They were watering it at 4 pm when I went in and put down a blanket.Originally posted by Zonks32x View PostApparently, Will county has a daytime watering ban...whether it's dirt or grass.
Glad I opted not to make the 2.5 hour drive for this one.
Also, the track was rolled in and ready to go at the advertised time (6pm hot laps), but instead of rolling the cars out, they brought the water truck back out and drenched it.
This lead to an hour and a half delay and a track that was narrow all night long.
