It is difficult to watch knowing the eventual outcome, I don't think anybody is watching with excitement, I would hope it is to just see what happened and what can be learned from it. On top of everything else, just knowing he has a 5 year old little boy, that is just crushing to me. I don't have children but dang I can't imagine what they are going through.

Who are you talking to? Hear about what type of stuff? Its plastered all over every outlet on social media. You are entitled to your opinion but dont push it on others. Dont wanna see or hear about it dont click simple as that...

Don’t entertain mud packer. Mud packer just looking start stuff. There was zero reasoning of him to post that. There was no link put out watch the accident, just ago fund link. Everyone just talking what happened on the track with zero bashing or blaming of the accident.

It's like the majority of dirt tracks where there is a catch fence on the back stretch and on the front stretch.

How many of these guys have to get killed before they strengthen up these cages?? Put a steel plate on the top of the cage. Every other form of racing has deaths and seems to make cars safer indy, nascar, nhra... But sprints are still stuck in the 70's refusing to even add starters to their cars.

People refuse to watch the video, because of moral high ground, but insist on commenting on things that had nothing to do with the actually tragic outcome. And when someone that saw what happened trys to share what happened they're a monster and you don't want to hear about it.

Does that sum it up.

I'm very sad about Jason's passing, and I hope actions are taken to make the cars safer and tracks too. But I hope we don't do any knee jerk things to hurt competition or needlessly cost tracks money and put them in jeopardy.

Remember racing is what Jason loved more than anything outside of his family. His peers have talked about it in the past couple of days and his driving always showed it. Let's race on for Jason and do the right smart things.

Room for improvement in sprints and late models. We've got a lot of guys hurt lately.

Maybe fans don't get it but people who are intimately involved in racing (drivers, car owners, track owners, promoters, sanctioning bodies, etc.) actually DO want to see the video. It has nothing to do with being entertained but has EVERYTHING to do with learning something from a tragedy in the hopes that improvements can be made to avoid a similar incident in the future. Could be car construction, track configuration, safety devices, human error, etc. etc. By taking the perceived moral high ground by not watching it and talking down to those of us that DO want to watch it (and for VERY good reason) is really to be a part of the problem. Just pretending that nothing is wrong that needs to be examined is pretty ignorant.
Not all racers wait for the so-called experts to tell them ways to improve the safety of their racing program.

Thoughts and prayers to the Johnson family and for all of our sake, hopefully a silver lining will be that positive change comes to the sport that Jason loved as a result of their tragic loss. But none of that comes without thorough examination of what happened.

Things were much worse years ago before cages and even seat belts were required.

USAC lost a driver per week for quite awhile back in the 60's.

Saw a photo of a 24 car starting "Big Car" field a few months ago taken in the 50's. IIRC 21 of the 24 drivers were gone within four years of that photo being taken.

Safety has acome a long way but things still happen.

Its garbage? I enjoy it? Ok buddy. Im actually torn on the video. Yes I wanted to see what happened, doesnt make me a bad person, I just get tired of people trying to take the moral hight ground and judging trying to tell people what to do. It happened at a public event in front of hundreds of people its not like they are leaking video off a surveillance camera. And like I was saying thats your opinion it doesnt make you right and everybody else wrong...

Nope, just being 32 fan does. Of course you don’t enjoy it, you were curious. I chose to not watch it, I don’t wanna see that stuff for myself personally, and as outta respect for his family. But I don’t look down on anyone who chooses too. If you wanna, go for it, I’m just not going to. I didn’t take anyone on here watching it as some kinda disrespect, glorifying a tragedy.

Went and looked at them pics, man, chills. Check it out now, there’s a picture of them sitting on a concrete slab. You scroll through them and man, you can tell he genuinely was a good Dad. At least his boy is old enough to retain some memories of him. Very sad, boy is that kid cute.

God bless that mom ,too, Bobbi! She was truly behind Jason, with his racing, and definitely loved their son. Very sad indeed!
