Agreed they do consider the body of work. But when it comes down to what happened this week and last week among the top 5 what happens? If a team loses a game do they drop? How about 2 or 3? It similar. Scott has run good but he has had some bad runs too. Marlar has been on a heater so he climbed past he and Madden. I don't know why it is so hard to understand.

Even college football considers a teams whole body of work.Hard to argue with either of ya...wonder when the 157 and the 0 will battle head to head again I 80?Originally posted by flagone View PostAgreed they do consider the body of work. Question for ya Kelly......is it just about on-track performance?Originally posted by flagone View PostAgreed they do consider the body of work. If off-track counts, Marlar is slightly more personable and slightly less drama queen!

lmao!!!Originally posted by flagone View PostWell obviously it is subjective. Its 10 people's opinions averaged together. But it is based on racing. And I think it is 9 pretty good opinions and one lucky fat boy from SC.
i have railed against the DOD rankings many times over the years, but couldn't help myself when starting this topic. big marlar fan and knew the bloomeroids would jump in. and in this case i'm not so sure they aren't right.
my perspective: poll doesn't mean squat, but it sure is fun to trash talk on message boards! And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

I agree on their top 10 95% of the time, but 11th-25th is just pretty much a teenage High School popularity contest among the guys that pick them. Why's a lot of people saying it's a "weekly" poll? Billy Moyer can take a month or two off and stay in the top 25. I know it's really just a meaningless poll but it's kinda sad when a guy doesn't go to Arizona or Florida and is in the top 25 versus someone who went and raced at one or both and isn't even considered....

Marler to me is just not #1in racing but the guy is #1 in being humble and loving his fans...Marler has all ways got time for his fans...he has giving my son his trophy after winning a big race and not just my son but he has giving many kids his trophy after a race...i don't care where they rank him..he is one of the best...so he will all ways be #1 in my rankings..

I agree.......and I have a hard time putting regional drivers in front of national series drivers....at least the top 5 in each natl series!Originally posted by Flathead View PostI agree on their top 10 95% of the time, but 11th-25th is just pretty much a teenage High School popularity contest among the guys that pick them. Marlar hasn't finished outside the top 5 on over a month, other than losing a tire while leading in Iowa the other night. Most these tracks he has never even seen or hasn't been to in quite awhile. He's been the most consistent car on tour in that time, other than Madden of course.
The debate could go on forever, I think what Mike is doing is very impressive. This is his first year on any kind of tour in years.
