Of course not, just like when I or we got nailed with marlar an moyer earlier in the year or whoever. You are right though it don't pay nothin but when it happens to me I get down on the driver or myself for making the pick ..... not the rules

Whatever picks you had before the deadline is who you have for the weekend. As dirtFANatic brought up, letting people swap Weiss out for someone else opens up the possibility of others wanting to change picks after the deadline if their guy crashes out in night one and other similar scenarios.

I agree with the deadline dch it eliminates all controversy. I just found it funny guys lobby so hard against good competition especially with nothing on the line, mainly cause they are not confident in their own picks...

Im confident with my Simpson pick, I went against the grain to try and gain some points against the majority of the field who took Richards in that group (Richards has 73% picks and Simpson 16%). Simpson had carb issues in qualifying that buried him in heat and consi, and he still missed transferring by 1 spot. Look at Simpson's past 3 yrs results at the Big E, it wasnt a "bad choice".Originally posted by Illtsate32 View PostI agree with the deadline dch it eliminates all controversy. If the Weiss announcement would of came out before the deadline, and those who picked him changed their pick, then that is fine. But I believe the info came out after deadline, thus those picks are locked. Its no different than betting a football game, and the first play of the game the starting QB/RB gets injured and out the rest of the game, you dont get a 'mulligan' and get your $ back because of that.
I know its for fun, but DCH has stretched the rules in the past. And stated the going forward it wasnt going to be allowed. I appreciate he is sticking to his word about this for fun game. And I appreciated the time DCH takes to do this for all of us. I can only imagine how time consuming it is. DCH, cheers!!!Last edited by dirt FANatic 11; 09-07-2018, 10:10 AM.2018:

Only reason said change because few wanted change Weiss. It’s not like running bad or was no show. His chassis was rejected from tubing being 1/8 to smaller than supposed to be. Which he had been running this car in Lucas events and others, His car was never was rejected. Most people can’t tell difference in 1 1/2 and 1 3/8 tubing. I picked Chris Simpson but not asking change him out. You picked Bloomquist like I did, didnt say nothing about changing it because he can’t take drug test or can’t get on time to the a event. Rightfully so he shouldn’t have that was on him. That chassis deal was on the chassis builder not on Weiss. But hey what ever, i see same people saying stuff got dch scratch a hole group because of a driver and now saying it’s the rule blah blah lol. I’ll eat the L, like did with Scott and marlar and so on.Originally posted by bloomer88 View Postdirt FANatic 11 brings up a good point, and lays out some examples of how this whole fantasy picks game can get out of hand if we start changing up the rules all the time. I'm sorry guys, but this whole game is nothing more than a guessing game. You have the choice of playing it safe and picking a driver that will more than likely make the feature 99% of the time, even if he may not have much of a chance to win it or finish in the top 5. Or you can gamble and pick a driver that may back out of a race at the last minute, not pass tech inspection, show up late and not get to race, etc., knowing that if they do show, they are a decent bet to win any race they run.
I(and many others) got burned last week when Bloomquist showed up late, and didn't get to race that night. I never once thought about asking to change my pick after the deadline for that. I got burned earlier in the year when I picked Marlar for a Lucas race, and he no showed. I wanted to get back on here and change that pick, but I was too late, and the deadline had passed. I took my 0 for those picks, and that was that. That's the chances we take when we make picks.
My opinion is the deadline is the deadline, and that should stand. In this case, the ones that were able to come in here and change their picks, did it by the rules, and they should be allowed to stand. For the ones who didn't change them in time, I'm sorry but I don't think they should be allowed to change them.
I know my opinion may not be popular, and it is just my opinion, but the deadline is there for a reason.

you'll still be back up top in time the better players always are. Some come an some go or some have work commitments take over but seems to me it's the same guys plus or minus a few majority of the time. Who said marlar's gonna make it back out tonight? What if mars junks his stuff up? Still a long weekend man an I've enjoyed playing against you regardless of outcome.Originally posted by SLIDING SIDEWAYS View PostIm good going to suck it up take the 0 and roll on to next week. Im sorry but are we playing for $ or some great reward at the end of the year? Sure seems like it if people are complaining about the possibility of changing people's picks. Im too busy to be on here all day every day and just happened to read about Weiss and saw the weather was bad. Didnt know if the deadline had been pushed back or not. So i ASKED "if its not to late" when i posted about possibly changing my pick. Its supposed to be for fun but some people take this wayyyy too seriously. I appreciate the time and effort dch and sniper have put into this each year and it is fun picking drivers each week , but idc about taking a 0 or getting max points. Bc its just for fun and im not gonna throw a fit on here if some1 ASKS about changing a pick. I had to re-read in disbelief some of the books people posted after myself and a few others posted about changing if it wasnt too late. About a free, for fun fantasy league...

I don't think anyone is getting their "panties in a wad" about this. In fact, I think everyone has been pretty respectful in this thread. I'm sorry that I explained my opinion and pointed out how issues like this can get carried away. I guess I'll just keep my mouth shut next time. I myself haven't taken these fantasy picks wayyyy too seriously, it's been a lot of fun for me. It's just the rules for this are pretty cut and dry, just like in any other fantasy sport. You pick your drivers before the deadline, if they race you get points, if they don't race(for whatever reason), you don't get points. I thought we established this earlier this year, when it became an issue.

Just so there won’t be any confusion in the future, picks will be due at exactly 5pm central the night of the first race that weekend. If you get yours in at 501pm, you won’t get scored for the first night but you will get added to the remaining races that weekend. If you make your picks before the deadline but edit then for any reason whatsoever after the deadline, you’ll get a 0 for the first night and you’ll be added to the remaining races that weekend. That’s about as simple as I can make it.
Also since the rest of the weekend is canceled, obviously on Thursday will count. We will repick drivers for the makeup with all new groups.
