Please tell us what advantage having 1 3/8 tubing vs 1 1/2 tubing? Other than safety aspect of it. Because 1 1/2 with minimal of .065 is not that much better. .065 is just a hair .0025 over 1/16. Hell 1 3/8 with .125 or .1875 thickness would be lot better.


Now question for anyone that knows if eldora tech does UT check on every roll cage that goes through tech.

Wouldn't the chassis itself flex more? With that being said ain't there other ways to accomplish this? Just throwing darts here? Mabe it's just something that was over looked, mabe it was something they wanted to try out? Doubt we'll ever really know the truth?

Possible flex more if thickness is same or less than .065. If greater than that it wouldn't flex any more than what rule calls for. Would be nice to know what the thickness was on his door cage.

Just a thought but with the rainout could/should Weiss be able to present a car for tech when the Dream resumes? I'd guess all returning cars will go thru tech again. Does his DQ remain in force till the event is concluded?

CnB, his backup is the Wissota car. Spec motor with different engine set back. Said it would take a long time to swap it all over.
