I do like the article, but that truck TMac was using was far from worth $40k. You can go on Car Guru etc, and buy them for half that or less. Seen it up close, not in good shape and around an 02’ style.

It’s anywhere from 08-14. Original cost was probably over 40,000 but definitly not now. It’s been well used to say the least. I don’t even think it’s a diesel

I've yet to see a hauler win a race! And, I've seen rich folks buy the best of everything and consistently finish closed to last on every outing.

Haulers win you races. They do all the work you don't think about. Get you up and down the road, eat and sleep in. Carry the spare parts and equipment.

I guess I needed to clarify I was not talking about the hauler and winning races. I was saying that truck, maybe someone knows exactly, is an early 2000’s imo Chevy, and Robert saying $40k is not accurate. I would not take issue with it if we are talking $5-$10k, but that truck is about half that value. Beat to hell and I’m sure tons of well abused miles.

A hauler won't win you any races, but if you think running the Lucas Oil series without a toter home isn't a serious disadvantage, you are delusional. When your a 1000 miles away from home, a backup car, engines and parts to rebuild a car isn't just a luxury. It's a necessity.

It’s was a feel good win and T-Mac has the best car that night, but the 2 are un-related and simply coincidence. No.....haulers do not win races, but they sure make the grind a lot easier. A team couldn’t go a month straight up and down the road on tour in that setup. Time to move on before we hear more about him not having the funding to keep up.

Its cool to play the underdog, but thats usually for the fans to decide, not for the person being claimed to be to beat it to death. Theres always somebody who has it worse so people get tired of hearing it real quick...
