Actually, that would be Hoosier Tire. They're the ones providing the batch sample/test, used for comparison.

I agree with that as well. My thing is I’ve heard enough similar stories from too many people that I will never believe one of these “failures” again. The whole testing process is botched

What is wrong with the test procedure? The test itself is not difficult.

Don't you know that tire tests are always wrong when the driver is a nice guy?

Sooner or later people will stop believing the "we just bought it at the track" or "we ran over someone elses stuff" lines. The tests are fine and dandy when the drivers tire comes back clean but only a problem when someone gets popped.

Admits they made a change in their "procedure". Hmm.

There’s a reason Lucas Oil switched to Akron Rubber Lab and stopped using the woman that tests soils in her basement in Virginia. The tests at Akron are about $600 more which is why these series still use Blue Ridge Labs

Can someone who isn't with the tire company or isn't with a series that's contractually obligated to use a certain tire mfg.tell us with a straight face why they even test tires?

And please spare the " it's for your own good" health hazard argument........ain't nobody buying any of that hyperbole anymore.

Better yet, why can't they just make a tire that works so nobody has to improve them once they buy them new?

Pretty sure I think I know the answer I'm just hoping someone smarter than me on this subject will chime in and set the record straight.......did the degreaser really cause krob to win ???

There isn't a tire out there that is always the correct tire for the conditions. The more the choices are limited by the rules, the more there is to gain by chemical alteration.
