I'm going to have to look and see how much rain we have had since the late Summer/Early fall. 2009 was the record year overall here, but the last 9 months or so have been crazy in regards to rainfall.

You can lose your a-- if there is a chance of rain and fans don't show up. Some tracks just can't take the chance. It's the one race throughout the year that can make you or break you. I'm not saying that's the case here but, it is something to consider. The forecast was not good yesterday when the cancelled and most years they might have waited until today but, with all the rain we have had one would have thought there was a good chance of rain.

I live here I'm telling you the sun was out at 5:30 hot as heck. One little cell developed eaat of Belleville about the size of a football field it would of rained less than two minutes if it hit. I'm used to the old days when you at least wait till the day of, AND it it was actually raining to call it, but new day new era, really is a shame...

You said the weatherman got it wrong but, that wasn't the forecast the day before and like I said it's been raining a lot this year so, they assumed it was going to rain. I'm not saying it was right to make the call the day before but, I understand why they did it. Yes now since it didn't rain we can say it wasn't the right call but, it's not easy to have to make those calls. I worked for my local track and would be there talking to the promoter and discussing whether we should cancel or not and sometimes he made the right call and sometimes he didn't that's just the way it goes but, when the fans don't show up because of the rain in the forecast and you still have to payout the purse and sanction fee you lose money. like I said some tracks can't afford to lose the money.

I'm just saying ateast wait till the day of, then if you see rain on the radar then make the call. Lots of social media talk too lots of people still had their stub from last year, they knew they weren't gna make alot at the gate anyway, so I don't think it hurt their feelings at all to cancel. One more year for you to lose track of your stub lol....
