Logan Roberson, who I know very little about, is apparently pretty legit. He came from 14th to 2nd in his first heat last night, and won his second heat from the pole. He’s the defending champ and will start on the pole tonight. Overton and Bailes were second and third in passing points. So while super drivers might seem to have an edge, it doesn’t guarantee them the 50K. But, in my experience down here in crate land, when there’s big money on the line and top super drivers enter, one of them usually take the money — or at least a crate driver with a lot of super seat time too.
Also, not surprising, there are several drivers complaining about last night’s format. Looks like mostly Deep South guys who are use to just qualifying and running the feature. Most series down here don’t even run heats.

They ran 8 groups of lates and 3 groups of mods in 2 rounds of passing point heats. I went to bed around midnight and they had just completed round 1 of the heats. Tonight will be another late nighter with 5 B-mains, the feature, plus the mod show.

Someone on Facebook said the last crate heat ended at 2:00am. Sounds like cautions were the main issue — other than having 150 Cars lol.Originally posted by bleedblue55 View PostThey ran 8 groups of lates and 3 groups of mods in 2 rounds of passing point heats. Those 2-3am race nights used to be a little more common, WVMS comes to mind, not so much any more.

My volunteer help fell through for tonight so I won’t be running County Line. If I have any reception I will post some pictures from VMS on Twitter. I’ll go get a pit pass and hang out with locals that run limited too. @bbqjake77jGuerilla Racing Junkies.
Shovel on a little more coal, then when we cross white oak mountain, watch 97 roll!
The problem is the gall dang motors.

Let me first say im not a fan of crate racing. But with that said we are here and i can guarantee you it's no cake walk for anyone. As far as cheating goes it's not happening. They teched the top five in points last night. And today they will tech the top ten from the feature as well as tearing down the top three engines completely so no point in having a cheated up engine. Further more every real racer wants to run against the best people they can. Also I've said this before stan lester created crates as a alternative to super latemodel racing a way to eliminate a large chunk of the cost. It was not meant to be a "poor" man's class as it's referred to with old cars and used up parts. That is what stock bodied classes are for. And i love it all but at the end of the day it's a latemodel period don't be whining about money or being out dollared its part of the game
