99% of guys out there, especially with their shocks and springs covered, have absolutely nothing to hide with a big cover over the back of their car.

It's only the people trying something radically new that have anything to hide. And they will tackle your ass in the infield at Ocala.

Protecting your shock shafts is a very good idea. A bunch of dirt jammed at the wiper by a bumpstop isn't good either.

On the Jets we wipe the chrome surfaces of the landing gear shocks with hydraulic fluid every day. Probably wouldn’t be a terrible idea in the race car. A gas shock is a gas shock. I don’t know what fluid to use. I will probably just use WD40 or Rem oil or maybe mineral oil from the drug store. unless I should use shock oil.

The stuff I use helps prevent the dirt from sticking on the shafts. Started using it back when had to run sliders on mod.

Way back in the day Dad used to put tarps over the back of his car. There was a small portion of the time we were trying some different rear suspensions, but 99% of the time it was because no one else did, and there were a few competitors that it absolutely drove nuts. They'd spend more time trying to figure out what we were doing vs working on their stuff. Dad had some good runs, but by no means was setting the world on fire, but it still drove them other guys nuts.

We've even made a small aluminum sheet metal cover to wrap around the restrictor plate on the intake, absolutely no purpose other than to drive a couple guys nuts.. and it worked haha

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye .A lot of it is mind games but if I had something I did not want you to see I would do something like this to draw your attention to that. A lot of times what I didn't want you to see was right in front of but you were too worried about what was covered.Bloomer is the world's best at mind.games
