Chastain is a rising star. Put money behind him and big things will happen.

If was great to see Ryan walking out of the Hospital. As for Chastain, he deserves a chance, he is a really talented racer. No one gave this kid anything and he has worked his butt off to get where he is. Maybe he will show some good ability and some competitive team might take a hard look at him when a seat comes open. IMO Ragan wanting to retire would not have been the right choice.

I think they did reach out to Ragan but he told them he already had plans with the family.

They tried to get Ragan, but he told them he was too busy going to the flea market.

Yep, said he already made plans to hit the local flea market with his family, so he was out.

DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA, ! ! ! ! No disrespect intended. It is has been implied that NASKY was so amazed of the 3 week every day mileage that the mainstream media and the NBA got over the Kobe Bryant death that they tried to glamorize the accident of solid big old tough guy Ryan Newman when the experienced race fan realizes that it was a rather routine wreck for any racer on any speedway. For Cripes sake did anybody note that the Richard Petty pirouette, the Rusty Wallace wreck at Bristol, the Bobby Allison crash through the fence at the super speedway, the Busch race that Mike Waltrip was left sitting in the middle of the racetrack in only the seat and no car surrounding him etc. left each and every one of those racers not the worse for wear in the long run ? SNOW, SNOW, SNOWFLAKERY !!!!!!!! Did even the passing of Elvis run on this long ? ?

Getting rammed directly in the drivers side window at 190 MPH isn’t your every weekend wreck. No disrespect

Does the FACT that he walked out of the hospital on his own with both daughters in each hand change the FACT that he wasn't ever in a life threatening situation especially since it was announced 3 weeks ago that he was getting a divorce from his wife of 16 years ? No disrespect because I was always a big old Ryan Newman fan. And its not just because that I was a big old Brian Ruhlman fan { that rhymes with Ryan Newman and both have an engineering degree ! !

You talk about how long the story runs on, but don't realize it runs on because you keep bringing it up. It died here for 3 days until you had to bring it back to the top. And a "rather routine wreck?" You have officially lost your mind. And what does an impending divorce have to do with anything?

This hit was very similar to the one Dale Sr took in '96 at Talladega. It's reasonable to expect serious injuries from it.

A recent statement from Newman says that he is recovering from a head injury. I would call that a serious injury, even if he was able to walk out of the hospital.

You apparently have had your head in the sand with regards to CTEs.
