Like I said awhile ago. East Bay is similar to Eldora and a couple other places. There's a lot of history and alot of talent has crossed through the gates over the years.

Was at East Bay this year and -rumor- was they are looking at another place to move 40 miles south of Tampa? Things can change but they are still there till 2024.

Not a thing. They had looked at the old DeSoto speedway property for about eight seconds, but it's now purchased and not an option.

The new owner of Desoto is not going to use the racetrack. Said he's interested in someone leasing the track!

I believe he was the only one who put a bid in on it. If true then that rules out East Bay having any interest in it during that time it was available

Desoto raceway was bought by a youtuber to basically use as his own "movie studio/lot" and rent out to other videographers.

No hate for screven. Great track shape with a fantastic surface, 2 groove racing, and that's as far as it goes. The place could be a premiere facility if they'd put some effort into making any kind of improvements.

They're not going to use it as a typical oval race track. But they are going to use it for drifting events, video shoots, etc which means no dirt. I can see it possibly getting leased out for big pavement late model races. Not to be a downer here, but I'm very confident that there will not be a "new east bay" once its gone. Putnam County Speedway is still sitting dormant, but that entire place would need bulldozed and rebuilt from scratch to ever be worthy of any major event. They've got to be able to stay afloat for the rest of the year and weekly racing in Florida is barely alive.

I’m kind of new to this area racing-wise (moved here in 2014), so I only know Screven since then. In my brief time here, I’ve seen obvious improvements. They’ve built really nice grandstands on the backstretch, and an equally nice “backstretch” flag stand. Starting with their next big event, they will flip the track and that will become the frontstretch. I can’t speak for what this place was before I moved here, but from what I’ve personally witnessed, they are definitely making improvements.

By the way, Daytona announced today that it will race everything from Tuesday to Sunday only! No more Speedweeks at Daytona at least! The hotel folks are puking big time!!

Not too sure about the Putnam Cty remarks. I go by there every couple of months.....they are keeping the place well maintained. Im not sure about all the mechanicals but that was a facility that was ahead of its time when Mr. Potter re-built it! I spent every Saturday nite there for a long time......very nice track and facility!

The corners were fairly tight and probly needed to be widened but it was a very racy joint!

It has about 38 acres and is listed for sale at $799k......once was $1.5mil!

It would only possibly affect Volusia on Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday nights. The only nights Daytona is racing.
