When I was admitted to the hospital last year when there was no "pandemic" it was very near capacity and it's a very large hospital. They ended up putting me in a different section of the hospital unrelated to my illness. Therefore the staff weren't trained to take care of what I needed they always had to come from a different part of the hospital. I ended up leaving after a week and was readmitted a few days later but this time they put me where I needed to be.

Now imagine that happened again, but in the middle of a pandemic.

If that's the case, then why are we seeing hospitals in Italy fill up over covid-19 but we didn't see that for the flu this winter?

Different countries are seeing 15-25% hospitalization rates with about 5% needing ICU treatment. That 1.4% mortality rate can shoot up quickly if the people who need hospitalization can't be hospitalized because all of the beds are full. Not only that, but people suffering normal day-to-day stuff like strokes, heart attacks, and car crashes won't have available beds, either.

How many track owners are gonna have to close their doors? How many racers are gonna have to close it up? If you own a track or own a racecar, odds are you own a business to be able to fund racing. The number of promoters and car owners will go down from this, I just hope racing as we know it is salvageable

You posted in another thread that 25 million would die in this country...….what century are you referring to?
