That yellow fifty car won alot of races, didn't matter who drove it. Larry Ekrich cars where always up front.

Yes, Dolan was always tough and in the 50 almost unbeatable. One of the old 50 car drivers lives only a few miles from me, see him from time to time....

I'm not sure who won more in the Precision Performance ride, Tom Hearst or Ray Guss Jr. I think it was Guss that replaced Dolan, heard they thought Dolan was not aggressive enough.

Darrell Dake was from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was nearly unbeatable at the now long gone Sterling Speedbowl Park in Illinois. Speedbowl was a 1/3 mile and was very near perfectly round. Darrell Dake had a top notch operation. His hauler and racecar were first class and immaculate down to the last detail. This '66 Fairlane was legendary among fans and competitors alike in western Illinois and all of Iowa. This car was a little before my time but I got to see Darrell race modern late models during his later years. This was the quintessential dirt late model of it's time.

Darrell Dake! This guy was a true racer! Remember looking at his aluminum chassis at Farley one year all the lead they had on it in various places.

Keith Simmons (former Farley owner) has a replica of this car, very impressive job, see if I can find a pic.
