My opinion has not changed. I'm waiting on some list of facts to sway me.

This a a forum. Replies are quick and about one point. I didn't write a manifesto laying out my whole philosophy.

The biggest state for dog racing lost all of theirs. That was 64% of the remaining tracks lost in one year. We live in a time of mob democracy. Sacred cows can be lost quickly with a change in public sentiment.

Maybe I'm confused, so my apologies. What is your opinion? You started with horse racing only existing because of money and senators, then dirt late model racing only has Forrest Lucas and the tracks don't have any protection. I am seeing a lot more in dirt late model racing than just Forrest Lucas, but would like to hear more about your point of view.

The mob rules our democracy these days. We participate in a sport that is very disgusting to climate minded people. When we get in the cross hairs of climate and cancel culture, we are in big trouble. There are not many wealthy and politically connected folks to defend what we do.

So far horse racing has had enough of those types of people. I think they have a lot more of them than dirt racing does. I also think PETA isn't as powerful as New Green Deal agenda.

Most people on this board are looking for reasons to blame democrats and liberals for things they don't like. That's all it is.
Nashville is a liberal city with a liberal mayor and it is becoming more liberal every day. The liberals in control have worked with the fairgrounds racetrack to keep the place open. It sounds like they are even taking steps to get NASCAR back. How about that for a bunch of socialists and commies.

People don't have to be socialist or commie to not value something I do. My favorite US city is a Blue dot in a red state. Things are changing whether you choose to see it or not.

Suburban expansion is a way bigger challenge for the future of dirt track racing. Not democrats, not the Clean Air Act, not the Green New Deal. It's hard to blame liberals for a subdivision though.

On a track by track basis, you are correct.
That's not what the final death will come from, however.

This post was started about the clean air act and effect on dirt late model racing, hence the replies about liberals and our government. I agree that there are a lot of other challenges for motor sports (funny, probably should be 'engine sports'), but the topic was directly pointed at conversation on this political agenda.

Death blow has been called... We also are killing the rainforests with all of the hardwood basketball courts and wooden baseball bats, so those two will be the next sports to go.....

Canada and Australia are way more liberal in their thinking and policy making than we are here. A conservative there is pretty liberal here. They still race. They race a lot in Canada.
There is room for compromise. Making blanket accusations about liberals does not help.

You are hilarious. Rain forests are burned down for agriculture use.

That was my point... Your argument about racing is similar to the rainforest claim I was providing. Please get out more....
