Right before the wreck, I said to myself, "I really hope Bloomer hangs it up before he kills himself out there". The wreck was really scary. I think it was Babb's fault, but I don't think it was intentional. I think he was just going to cut down low into 3 and made a bad decision. Really sucks, but glad Scott is ok.

I think a racing deal.maybe when they hit it knocked the wheel loose from babbs hands especially if he used a small steering wheel.i really beleive 99 percent of the wrecks are accidental slight mistakes ,slightly or sometimes way over there heads i really just dont beleive most drivers have the intent to wreck someone...i have watched both race over the years both pretty clean drivers...

Once again and most importantly we are very thankful that Scott is ok, that heat race incident was the result of hard racing in an early heat at Eldora. I have raced with Scott my entire career, always looked up to and admired him. I have nothing but respect for him and all the competitors I race with on the track. The last thing I want to do is see someone else get hurt, tear up someone else’s equipment or my own. -Shannon

Like most have stated and I agree, it didn't look intentional, however... After rewatching the whole heat I would add that Babb's car looked off and he seemed to be excessively aggressive, handling the car like he was at FALS instead of the Big E. Twice he turned the car almost broadside at the center of the corner and I think this is what Bloomer was referring to when he said, "Babb looked wild." Babb just looked unusually desperate or frustrated, at least that was my impression on further review. I don't for a minute think it was in any way intentional, but it did seem avoidable and disappointing. I've always been a Babb fan, he was a master in a Rayburn swingarm and for that he will always have my respect. I was hoping for Bloomer to have a good showing, it didn't have to be a win, just a solid complete run, but it was not to be. The assertion that these 2 men are "Has been's or washed up" is erroneous and disrespectful. I wish only the best for both going forward.
